I like everything from Abba to Megadeath - if I like it, I like it. Hence the fact I only listened to 5 songs and didn’t waste any more of my time

Would genuinely love to see Abba and Megadeth on the bill!!   And like you, I have no interest in The 1975.  I'm hoping for some good line-up additions on Acoustic and Avalon... some more BritPop acts (Shed Seven, Sleeper, Ash, Kula Shaker, Richard Ashcroft etc all possible) and maybe some fun 80s (Midge Ure's only free weekend is Glasto, and Holly Johnson, Jason Donovan and Kim Wilde are touring right now)... but don't get me wrong... I'm seeing Iron Maiden in Birmingham the weekend before Glasto!

Take with a pinch of salt, but heard from a reliable source that:

Rihanna London shows were due to be announced on Monday but announcement was delayed because she's now signed on for Glastonbury (it hadn't been the plan previously) and wants to do less London shows.  Rihanna London announcement now due this Monday instead after a bit of a reshuffle.

Rhianna must be doing a secret set on Woodsies then. Got any other scoops for us?

A fun fact or two:

Neil Young becomes the first repeat headliner from outside of the UK since The Killers in 2019.

+ Olivia Rodrigo makes it four straight solo headliners on a Sunday, since The Cure in 2019 too.

The 1975 are the first new British headliner band to play since Florence + The Machine in 2015.

I wonder how Rina Sawayama is taking the news today. She was obviously quite furious about Healy when she played the other year, but then she seems to have come under fire herself somewhat in the interim.

Probably so. I know you don't always take what another artist says at face value on stage at a festival, but the fact she did it at her Glastonbury platform did make me wonder if the festival would think twice about booking them.

Glasto booked Axl Rose with his various domestic and sexual violence allegations in the public domain; a bunch of dumb stuff said on a podcast was never gonna influence being booked as a headliner.

Ok I’m very late to this discussion and likely digging up a point that has been

made hundreds of times already…

But it’s wild that Neil Young is on the pointy one in place of Charli I’m not Charli’s demographic but I can easily see that she’s at the top of a 13ish year career and absolutely massive. This one doesn’t make sense from any perspective other than allowing Michael to book his hero one last time.

I don’t begrudge him that.. but the booking stinks of favouring the old white dude with a guitar over a modern sensation. If Charli cant headline the Pyramid now then what hope is there for other women artists?

Ok rant over. Sorry for most likely digging this one up again.

I’m more or less with you on this. IMO Charli would be a much better and more relevant Saturday night Pyramid headliner. I’m not her demographic either, although I find this a weird concept. Brat is a great fun party album perfect music for a good time Saturday night. ME could still have had NY, he’s the legend on the line up and that’s the slot he should be in.

Don’t agree that there’s an issue or a bias re women headlining the Pyramid though.

You’re right. On reflection, O’rod, SZA, Billie etc have all been booked in recent years. The festival has made a conscious effort there.
