Orbital Secret Set on the Glastonbury On Sea pier!

After looking at the size of the crowd for Dubstep Beatles it seemed quite bizarre that there were only couple of hundred old school ravers enjoying a 4 hour Orbital secret set on the Glastonbury On Sea pier Thursday night. It was one of my highlights and much love to anyone that was there.

I heard that track, and was on the pier, literally no idea. Gutted.

It got announced a bit before the set - although it only said Phil Hartnol and not both of them

The pier has a limit on the number of people that can be on it at once which might explain it, probably was a queue to get in putting people off (as lets be honest, nobody is leaving!)

There was no queue! We actually went on there because it was so quiet! As we came up, the security guard said "orbital are playing at the bottom" like he was trying to alert people to make sure they knew it was a special occasion. Was good

Yes this was much quieter than it deserved to be, brilliant start to the festival. Good to know this kind of thing can still happen. Him playing Belfast first fell like a call to arms. I think Phil quite enjoyed the low key feeling of it all. His set on the Bimble Inn was ace too.

That’s Phil’s son

Correct, it was a Phil Hartnoll and Conrad DJ set. No Paul Hartnoll so not really an Orbital DJ set. I was there too from the beginning but had to leave after an hour as I had a night shift starting at 10pm, had a nice cone of candy floss to enjoy with the music though.

Bollocks!   Would have loved to have stumbled upon that, and we never actually went on the pier as it was normally really busy. Also at the time we weren’t anywhere in particular, just bimbling about.
Although wandering aimlessly around in the evenings is one of our favourite things to do at Glastonbury, you never know what you’re going to find and who you’re going to meet it’s just a shame that we didn’t happen upon that

Brilliant! So not even the Secret Glasto feed (which has become a contradiction in terms) knew about it? Old school. I like it.

They very clearly did. And unlike most people here and the thread title, they got the info about what it actually was correct. More than 24 hours before it happened. If you missed it, then you weren’t trying hard enough.

Was anyone else at the Ezra Collective secret set at West Holts Bar on Thursday, that one seemed to go under the radar. We only saw it because we were there for the act before and they hinted at something coming up after them.

I was going to say that I was sure that that was where I found out about it.

This one was a proper old-school under the radar secret set.
