I've mentioned before but I've had a crap few months myself. But up until now was doing ok. And then this With everything that's been going on, essentially I've been neglecting myself and specifically the diabetes side of things. Got an ulcer on my foot (don't know how long it was there, like I said, neglect) which got infected. But thanks to the diabetic neuropathy I didn't notice how bad it was (wasn't getting the usual pain signals). I was taking antibiotics but because I've just moved and my new GP f**ked up my registration, getting treatment has been tricky. Finally saw a podiatrist today who basically said I need to stay off it and wear the boot to protect it. (As well as giving me stronger antibiotics) The podiatrist didn't seem TOO worried yet so hopefully should just take a bit of time. It's does have the potential to be bad though. Just have to see what happens. But now I'm stuck inside in a sh*tty shared staff flat just as the weather is starting to improve, not able to go out and do the one thing I love for both my mental and physical health. At the very least I'm going to be going into Glastonbury below match fitness. Feeling a bit sorry for myself. Ouch! Hope you start to feel better soon. Follow the advice though as that will get you back on the road to recovery quicker.

I'd been SO good, done everything I was supposed, took my eye off the ball and now this. 2024 has been a bit of a f**ker so far.

Simsy
Back home after a three-week holiday and I've averaged over 20,000 steps a day. The only day I didn't get to 10,000 was when I spent 11 hours on a bus. Now I just need to convince my boss to give me the rest of May & June off so I can keep up this level of fitness 😂
4AssedMonkey
As well as walking Hollie the Rescue Hound (TM) for effing miles, I’ve started running again after a decade off, and now we have dry-ish weather and daylight, I’m doing more gardening. I’ll be honest, at 50 it’s killing me. My back is in bits. But come late June, it will have been worth it.

I know your gardeners back pain, mine is screwed from endless bind weed pulling at the allotment.

Her mum is a Mioritic Sheepdog (the Romanian version of the Dulux dog) and we think Dad must have been a greyhound or similar as she's smaller and skinnier, looks a lot like fluffy Lurcher. I think digging out an old fence post and tree stump is what did my back this weekend. Feels better today though (a bit).

They asked for a Greenpeace donation as part of sign up last year. I'd expect the same this year.
cb4747
I completed my first charity run event today for the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust which is a neonatal unit at my local a hospital Medway Maritime. In 2022 my son was unexpectedly very poorly at birth and almost didn’t make it, thanks to the incredible team on the Oliver Fisher Ward he is with us today; a thriving and happy 2 year old little boy who attended his first Glastonbury Festival last year! 🤍 https://www.justgiving.com/page/charlotte-springate-1715255607184 I’ve definitely caught a group running bug and after running with 200+ others today, how do I sign up for the festival run?! 2

Alvoram
I've lost 3 stone 8lb now since December. Walking 20k steps+ per day at least 3 or 4 times a week, and regularly 'completing my rings' on the other 'rest' days. I've actually hit the target weight I set out for already, but I'm still massively overweight, (at least I'm technically not obese now, which is some comfort!) So I've set a new target for the next 6 weeks before Glastonbury. I'd like to lose another 12lb before Glastonbury, whilst shifting a lot more focus on to cardio fitness and strength. Rejoined the gym last week to help with that strength training. 🤞 6 hours ago, cb4747 said: I completed my first charity run event today for the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust which is a neonatal unit at my local a hospital Medway Maritime. MrHew
I set a target of 60,000 steps last week and I hit 65,000. This week's target is 70,000 and including day of 15,000. Will also do some strength and cardio sessions.
