Fred could be announced solo and then the rest show up but can't see all 3 together be announced. They have never done anything as of yet that has been announced more than a few days in advance i'd note

Why?
They’ve only been playing with each other for a short amount of time so they’ve not really been able to announce dates in advance.

Skrillex & Fred are both playing Parklife which has been announced months in advance.

Four Tet & Skrillex have actually played Mayfield together in the past. It really wouldn’t be that unrealistic.

Parklife is an 80k festival (although i guess that does show they have a relationship with WHP)

Four Tet & Skrillex were both far smaller then and thats without Fred too whos bigger than them both

guess we'll see as we clearly won't agree on this but i think its way out of WHP's scope.

Is there a video anywhere of Fred's live show? I watched his magnificent TDC but it's hard to see how that could be replicated on a big stage with a huge crowd.

there's tons of shit audience full set clips

Disagree entirely that Four Tet & Skrillex were smaller then. It was 2019, Four Tet had already headlined shows at Mayfield (2015) on his own merit before WHP properly took it over. Four Tet’s been massive for years. Skrillex was arguably bigger when he was realising all that mad music in the early 10s.

Four Tet wasn't doing 30k at ally pally then. Skrillex had died down significantly by 2019 from his hype in the early 10s when he got slots like Other headline for example

New point:

Has WHP ever booked a Coachella headliner? Or even a UK major festival headliner to do the same set (ie not Disclosure as they do live at fests vs DJ at WHP)

Them three as a trio is miles bigger than anything they've booked before.

Don’t think you can consider them as Coachella headliners, they stepped in last minute because Frank Ocean screwed it up the week before.

Four Tet is huge in the scheme of things but you could argue that he’s only succeeded at Ally Pally due to the Squid Soup lighting.

I also can’t imagine them to be stuck up about playing there, it’s the biggest club in the North by far.

Its about paying them all more than anything. 3 acts that could headline it on their own doing it together means a lot of money spent on them.

Don’t even see them wanting that much to do it. They seem to be enjoying giving people these mad moments even with the 37 pull ups of Ratatata

We’ll agree to disagree for the time being pal, wish you all the best. See ya on the floor.

Other than the rap acts they've had (Skepta, Central Cee, Megan Thee Stallion, Little Simz etc), only one I can think of is when they have had Bicep do live sets. Other than that, 'headline' level names like The Chemical Brothers, Chase & Status etc have all been DJ as far as I'm aware. They've had a lot of smaller names do Live sets such as Rudimental, Underworld, Overmono etc but other than Bicep, not headline level Live sets.

Also upvoted, not sure why that was downvoted, quite a valid point. Fred Again.. I suppose was a live set last year, but he would've been booked way before he had his massive rise in popularity and was considered a headliner, certainly a reason why Parklife have bumped him to headline The Valley. PHM would probably be the biggest booking they have ever had there imo if it happened, would happily welcome it of course, but think they could comfortably sell out the arena instead.

The Prodigy, Orbital, Aphex Twin, Deadmau5 & Flying Lotus have all previously played live at WHP.

Disclosure did play live there in 2013 after the brought out Settle

Christening the new Amazon Alexa with this set, if they all do a Glastonbury set I really don’t know where would be large enough stage to fit the crowd

Pyramid. If you wanna gauge in comparison to Coachella, the end of the Pyramid Field is just in front of the Spectra Tower. ( the glowing rainbow column )

That Blink 182 mix towards the end was rather nice. Hopefully get an extended version at Glasto.

Blink is playing Glasto?

    • Same here, I kept trying to go on A View From My Seat to see if each block was worth it. So vague!
    • Ok, I’ve had time to process the experience now, so here is my review.   The good Barcelona - what a beautiful place! What lovely people! The city was like another headliner. Stayed in El Poblenou, and the bars, cafes and restaurants were perfect. Avalanches - Absolutely spectacular, euphoric set. Fantastic stage. Possibly enhanced by substances that I timed right, for a change. Added bonus that I don’t really remember the queue. The Cure - I’ve been a fan for 34 years, and never got round to seeing them, so this was a dream come true. The XX - The sound was exceptional. The lights and setlist perfect, giving each member their moment. Was really loud where I was standing (between the front and the sound desk), but i didn’t notice any chatters - even during the quieter moments. Also loved Men I Trust, .bd. , Big Thief, NewDad and Gorillaz. The food within Parc Del Fòrum was also a lot better than I was expecting.   The bad People talking non-stop throughout some of the sets, and shouting to be heard over the music. I had to move 3 times during Wet Leg just to be able to hear the band over the crowd. It’s probably an age thing, but I just don’t understand it. You’ve paid how much to watch these acts, and now you’re standing with your back to the stage, missing the music and ruining the experience for everyone else? Odd behaviour.   The weather apocalypse on Thursday. I genuinely thought I would be able to tough it out. I couldn’t. Left after Geese. The lack of communication from Primavera didn’t help.   Whilst it was lovely to be by the sea, and the sunsets were very pretty, the site is a bit…concrete-y, isn’t it? I kind of longed for some grass and trees. Often found ourselves standing on the steps by the Adidas yard by some bamboo. This was probably a subconscious need for some nature. The fact that some of the nature included cockroaches did not negatively affect the experience.   My daughter, for running away when she saw the drug dogs in the queue on Thursday, meaning that I lost her for the whole evening. She hid her stash under a bench, and it miraculously survived the storms.   Also, can someone explain the point in having a wristband, when you still have to show your ticket every time you enter and leave the site?   Finally, I would like to nominate myself as one of the bad things about this year’s Primabera. I should have done Primavera a lot better. It was my first one, so I’m still learning, but I think I left too early on the Thursday. Left after the Cure on Friday, so I would be full of energy on Saturday, and then barely made it to the end of Gorillaz anyway, meaning I missed Overmono, Skrillex, Skullcrusher, Kneecap, and a few more I would have liked to see.   All in all Amazing lineup. Decent food options. Cupra and Cupra Pulse stages were very impressive. Weather was perfect for 3 out of the 4 days i attended.   It was always likely to be a ‘one and done’ for me, but we had a blast, even if I am starting to get too old for all this.
    • That Wednesday Razzmatazz slot is one of the best/prime slots!
    • If they fancy chucking something together last knockings, i'm up for it! 😄 Got to get a cat sitter, but i'm 95% there
    • Yes, that's why I think Interpol would be a good fit for the Wednesday so that they don't take up a prime Mordor slot on the other days.
