If Taylor Swift performs at Sziget 2024 I'll pay for everyone's ticket. Never going to happen I'm afraid. Her popularity is above anyone else on the planet at the moment. Yes, I know we've had P!nk, Rihanna and Ed in recent years but Taylor is two steps above any of them. Would love it to happen, but it won't. Sorry.

Also we wouldn't want it to happen even if it did.

Imagine how much it would cost for the festival. They would spend 90% of the artist budget on a single headliner. I don't dare to think of the caliber of the other headliners and undercards if we had TS.

I agree on that, she would cost so much.. I'd rather have a greaaaat undercard, and "normal" headliners ^^

What is more likely : AC/DC at HellFest, or Taylor Swift at Sziget ? ... 'cause the first one is happening... ^^

never say never 😉 To me, she's just like Bieber, a big name, but not untouchable (I mean, she's not Michael Jackson lol)

Full schedule is live apparently. I assume that means some of the timings we questioned were actually correct.

Is it though? All I can see on the website is all of the acts have start times allocated. No end times - unless that's on the app?

They just emailed the full time table as well. It is official. What seems to be wrong?

Oh, I checked back. Tom Grennan is 4 pm indeed, but could be due to scheduling conflict. Or he is simply unkown outside of the UK?

However M83 is at 0:30 not 3am!

So, what clashes do you all have?

I think my biggest ones fall on the first day, where I'll be sad to miss Destroy Boys and Los Bitchos as they clash with Foals and Sam Fender.

Also have a decision to make on Amyl and the Sniffers v Macklemore (yes, I know Macklemore isn't everyone's favourite but I really enjoyed his set in 2019). Will probably watch all of Amyl and then the second-half of Macklemore.

Can anyone recommend any decent acts on the final day? Feels like all the money's gone on Billie knowing she'll sell out the day tickets. There is literally nobody I fancy on the last day at all so any suggestions most welcome.

As someone more looking for live and quitar acts, quite unhappy that on the 20.45 Freedome arena spot (that clashes with headliner) we have pretty much the best quitar acts.  Then almost none whole week on the island after 10pm.

Viagra, Frank Carter, Amyl, Sleaford all clash with the headliner ?? cmon.

Some really tough ones. I really hate it.

Thursday: Viagra Boys - Florence + the Machine.
I've seen both before, but it still sucks.
Both are amazing live. I really don't know how to choose between these acts.

Sunday: Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes - Mumford & Sons.
Here I have only seen Mumford before. But I can't skip them as it is a friend's absolute favorite band and I want to experience the concert with her as I have managed to convince her to come to Sziget, much because of Mumford.

Monday: Amyl and the Sniffers - Macklemore.
Here it feels a bit like choosing between a fat party and good f**king music.
I've seen both before so maybe it's 50/50. My mood for the evening will simply decide. It may be that I see a little of both.

Tuesday: Sleaford Mods - Billie Eilish.
The one that hurts the most but also the easiest.
I haven't seen either of them before but Billie is one of my absolute favorites so I simply can't do anything but see Billie. It hurts me a bit that I won't see Sleaford Mods, to be honest.

I’m probably one of the few freaks who is absolutely fine with only watching 45 minutes of most gigs. Especially on festivals. Honestly I like to see bands but I definitely lose my patience after an hour or so.

So Freedome and main stage being so close is great for me because on most days I will bounce between the two.

There are about 20-30 bands in total for me where I wouldn’t want to miss a minute, it’s unlikely they wind up at the same festival, let alone to clash.

ABBA tribute show and Nothing But Thieves at the same time is killin' me lol 😅 ABBA tribute is always great !

Also on Monday, The haunted youth - Amyls & the Sniffers - Macklemore are almost at the same time... really hard to choose... 😕

Is there going to be a spectacular 'event' at 11pm each night outside Freedome like there was in 2022 and 2019?

I can't remember the name but had guys climbing and fireworks etc. Does that make sense? Was on every night just past the right side of main stage as you walk towards Freedome?

that?

I think it was a part of "Giant street theatre", no mention of it for 2023.

Something similar in 2023 lineup: https://szigetfestival.com/en/programs#!/p/1942370/requardt-rosenberg-future-cargo

It's called "Giant Street Theatre" and there is not gonna be one this year. They mentioned it on instagram in the comments.

It looks like they are cutting stuff this year again, no Giant Street Theatre, no Elrow party this year, no parties on main stage like in 2019 and previous years (glowstick party, flag party, color party,..), still no Limunarium 🙃

Shame they have cut giant street theatre.  It’s something different that sziget has always done compared to other festivals.  Some great  memories across the years from this venue.

im still dealing with the loss of the large world music stage and classical and jazz stage

Does anyone know if there's any rock (punk, alternative, indie rock, whatever) music anywhere at the festival on the 12th? There's a Blink cover band and it seems like that's all for the whole day. At such a huge festival I think it's embarrassing.

M. Byrd and The Devil's Trade are very good on the Europe Stage or if you like jazzy and funk stuff I recommend Jungle by Night and Jazzbois in Freedome.

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
