neacaisa
yes, blur should be a smaller band right now than gorillaz. they only released one album in the last 10 years and it was well received, but they didn't have one hit song in the last 20 years. not sure they are that much of a ticket seller. they should sell out wembley i guess, but just because it's UK, elsewhere i am not sure they can still sell out stadiums. Having a hit in the last 20 years is hardly relevant for bands that reached legendary status like Blur. And I still think they can sell out arenas. For example their last tour in 2015 took place in arenas in USA, Australia, Japan etc.

I agree, I think they're waiting for tour announcement. Rosklide director said a "big" female artist headliner will be there. Maybe the same for Werchter ? I still think about Rihanna, or Beyonce. But after or before RHCP ???

If I remember correctly Rihanna's last European tour was downgraded in a lot of places and some shows outright cancelled

It's a difficult one to predict, if there is a headliner to come for both Thu/Fri, which one needs the bigger act, Thursday certainly for non-Belgians, but then Friday having RHCP, who headlined six months ago, will need a big sell for people who go every year. I think you're probably right and there's someone going to come out of nowhere for one of the headline slots, do headliners always get the same time slot? If it's someone who's going to command a longer set, that could be why Thursday has almost half the acts announced as the other three days. Suppose they could've just included a couple more names from The Slope/Klub C in Wednesdays announcement, but it is noticeably lighter. Nicklord
I don't know about much better part. I would've loved Kendrick Lamar but also Kendrick's latest tour in Europe also didn't sell that well. There were a lot of tickets left for pretty much every arena
VCF
Blur and Kendrick officially out on the same day. Great... At this point I’m going for Lana del Rey as Stromae’s co-head/sub. Stromae / Lana / Sam Fender / The 1975 (/ Wet Leg?) and a nice undercard and I would be all over that Thursday.

Archi
Stromae is huge in Belgium and in huge almost worldwide. He doesn't need a bigger act than him on that day. Just a decent sub. If the band @Ken19 teased - the first comer - is still coming for Friday, really curious who it could be. Really got some doubt about Billie Eilish now. 49Lawson
Either way, if bands like Pearl Jam, Metallica, AM etc have another name next to them on the top line, then Stromae will too surely. Firenze Rocks announcing their first two headliners next week; might put someone else in the frame that we hadn’t considered yet?

He'll get one for sure. My main concern at the moment is that Thursday won't shape up to be one-sided like that Saturday last summer. So far it looks that way but it's very early and with only 5 names I 'm hoping it won't be the case.

Floyd_Ams
Yep! We knew that one but now it's confirmed. I would have liked a few more names on top of it though.
AAlex
Surprised Wet Leg weren't announced today given the leak, the poster with them on it is still on Muse's website as well. https://www.muse.mu/news/rock-werchter-323316 Seems odd to have had them on and then removed them, given that Thursday already had the fewest names, half compared to Sunday now. Guessing it's more likely RW are thinking about changing their day, than they've dropped out? Edited December 9, 2022 by AAlex

Would have been better leading a smaller package but I can see why they wanted to give a Barn head their own announcement. Imagine that’s everything for the year now for Werchter. One of our group is fully out after this, felt like they’ve been kicked when they’re down after losing Blur and Kendrick in one day; other 6 of us are waiting to see what happens with this January announcement for the new headliner. I’m sure they’ll get it right in the end.

According to the announcement: "More names for Rock Werchter will soon be announced". Whether it's literal though is another matter. I don't necessarily expect something next week as according to the festileaks insider it will be devoted to Core but I'm hoping for more names before the end of the year.
