PassingCloud
Are there any Glastonbury folk going to this in Bristol in September? Line up is fantastic. Thinking about getting a ticket and might be solo.

Skip997
Line up is superb, esp Sunday, but it finishes at 11pm, can't be doing with that. I'm only just warmed up at that time.

Neil
You're probably already on it but there's ticket deals available https://www.forwardsbristol.co.uk/tickets?fbclid=IwAR28zmBYWJSrxCa6_cO1oLYjEorJSDCQ2LSedYECPa-x3Cq46wrpMmkITwA_aem_AQ9v-RTi3lfowquPOORmGEV8h_OtuwRykTsiGcTqe6V0Y5JsUbPOrFCqdgal1S5wg6zaspt-hCIv2bdJhajcXu7i

Neil
Back to HS2 for the cost of HS2 the govt could buy everyone an electric smart car.
internetjef
I went on the Saturday and really enjoyed. Similar stage setup to previous years. Scheduling meant you could watch a bit of all acts on both stage if you were comfortable missing 10-15 mins of sets and don’t mind a quick transfer. Most of bar queues were decent (cans). was busy without being overcrowded. Seemed a decent crowd didn’t see any bother. watched some / all of Yasmin Lacey, Katy J Pearson, obongjayar, jockstrap, amyl and sniffers, primal scream, leftfield , aphex twin didn’t eat anything in there but looked like some decent options. I had a pizza on whiteladies road before then grabbed some grub on walk home after
stereodista
Also went, for Aphex first and foremost, but enjoyed Jockstrap too. Gillespie et al. really need to give it up though. Just totally atrocious. Food was good; drinks better at £6.something for a can of local craft. Would definitely go again for the right line up. internetjef
It was lost and grounded at the main bars . Helles and Wanna go to the sun as lager and pale ale options. May well have been a dedicated craft beer place doing pints and a wider variety to, but I didn’t bother seeking it out as can options had me covered
iSolaced
Line up is amazing, would've gone but not in town then 😞

Did LHG and New Bristol Brewery in the afternoon, as well as a couple of Good Chemistry pubs. Really good scene in Bristol these days! I had a pizza on whiteladies road before then grabbed some grub on walk home after I too went on Saturday, been to at least some of every iteration since they started a late summer festival on the downs a few years back. Agree with you and others - it was a great event on a nice day and with a decent sized crowd having a cracking time. I'm at the upper end age wise of the crowd I saw, so was great to see so many younger folk just put having fun. I got there later in the afternoon, sadly heard that Viagra Boys were replaced with Scalping - but they were great. Also saw Amyl and Sniffers, Primal Scream, Leftfield and Aphex Twin. For me Amyl were a particular highlight, but they have been every time I've seen them. I've probably seen Primal Scream three or four times including at G where either he was off his nut or not having fun - by contrast they had a choir and a great band and seemed to really get the crowd going. Shortish set for them so contained lots of popular bangers. What I saw of Leftfield and Aphex also great - I've got some pals who are very big pals of the latter and they were very happy. I had some grub, 11 to 15 quid for a meal - good quality and plenty of stalls without huge queues. Bars - they have craft ale, somewhere (I didn't see) doing cocktails and a can bar. I've only ever used the latter and really like that you can walk straight to the bar and buy drinks. Not the slow queues you get so many places. What I saw of the loos were also quick and decent, water they had taps for refills if you brought a bottle. Ooh no flags too - just the occasional animal on a stick - just unadulterated views of who you've paid to see - gert lush 😊 Edited September 4, 2023 by clarkete
mandana
I went to this on Saturday and really enjoyed it. Caught a couple of talks in the information area and watched a few artists, Amyl, Primal and Aphex were amazing. Felt that they had really thought about sustainability, eco loos etc. some good alcohol free options (I don't drink anymore) & reasonable prices. There was also an after party in Lost Horizons that was pretty decent. Will definitley keep an eye out for line up next year

rubenz
Went on the Saturday, always a good day out and I can walk home which is a bonus! Nice friendly crowd with a good mix of people and the sun was out so all good. Slurped on some powerful bright orange cider they were serving in the guest bar which was decent but didn't catch the name. £6.20 for a can of Thatchers a bit painful but i guess that is where we are at nowadays. Look forward to see what they have on next year.
