How busy is it if getting there for gates, is it midday Tuesday?

And how flat are the fields that are for CV east quiet at that time of parking up?

Any idea?

Also what's there on the live in fields? Is there any traders etc open on the Tue?

The quiet field is reasonably flat, with only an incline if you arrive well late, such as Thursday. Tuesday midday is a lush time to arrive and not hectic.

There are several food traders dotted about the CV fields, generally by junctions.

No live music as such, but plenty of "sounds" knocking about.

Just plant yourselves at the top of the hill by gate C, and take in the sunset & view over the site. Has a great vibe!

Hey,

Has anyone actually seen someone turned away because they hadn't met the criteria for a campervan stated on the Glasto website?

We have a kangoo with sleeping facilities but are worried about getting turned away.

Thanks

R

What else is in the vehicle? Does it look more than just a mattress in a car? Ok so different festival but at IOW one year we had 2 girls next to us who literally had a mattress in a van, thats it, the very thing specifically banned, another year a VW Beetle turned up with a yurt, the only connection was  a flap of fabric that vaguely rested on the roof of the Beetle. No idea how they blagged their way in. It could come down to the mood of the stewards as you come in.

Pretty much what's saidnabove. My T5 has neither cooking nor washing up facilities. However it has a full width bed, curtains etc. and "looks" like a camper. Noone has batted an eyelid at it

If you're concerned I'd drive in with your bed down and fully made up, curtains closed etc. I can't imagine anyone would pull you up, as Smeble said they're trying to avoid people turning up in panel vans with a mattress thrown in the back.

Semi-joking but you could put some motivational stickers on the outside (#vanlife AMIRATE 🤘)

This is literally on the list of features that DVLA want to see on a camper.

mine are cursory at best (but cost about £3 on ebay) 😂

We're going to be joining some friends who are staying in CV East this year, pitching a tent on their pitch. We're planning to park up at one of the car parks nearest to the CV field on Wednesday morning. Is it obvious how to get into the CV fields from the car parks?

Those who have stayed in East Quiet before, how long typically does it take to get to say West Holts?

I have 2 leisure batteries plus solar panel and we still get the flashing red light of doom during a 4/5 day festival - conserve power wherever possible; use solar/battery operated lanterns or candles, (not actual flame candles that would be dangerous!) 🤦‍♀️

Only time I've seen an unintentional fire close up at Glastonbury was someones live in van go up in flames in Green Futures crew camping. They had left a candle burning while they nipped out for a wee.

Fortunately it was a windless night so no spread to other vans or tents.

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
