I could ring up BUPA today, get a private GP appointment on Monday and be referred to see a specialist by the end of the week. Would be waiting months for that level of care on the useless NHS.

However if everyone had access to BUPA (or similar) you wouldn't have that level of care. You get it because such a small proportion of the country get have that option.

If Rachel Clarke was that concerned with saving lives she would get out of palliative care hospices and go work on the front line, tbh.

Not Rachel Clarke again. She does a lot of preaching about saving lives for a doctor who works in palliative care.

Been wondering who we're supposed to hate next. Would not have put my money on palliative care doctors, but there you go

She probably shouldn't be publicly  saying social distancing is a 'minor' thing we should all do. If she talks crap, should we just nod along?

There's a difference between saying you think she's talking shite and having a pop at her for working in palliative care.

But Fuzzy wasn't disagreeing with her views on social distancing. He was criticizing the fact she worked in palliative care. Which even by his standards is fucking weird.

Not all PC doctors, just ones who choose to preach on twitter about saving lives and then use their skills in a field where lives are explicitly not saved. It’s bizarre.

Yeah, selfish pricks. Trying to use their skills to assist people at the worst time in heir lives. Doing a job most of us couldn't even contemplate doing. Makes sense now.

Or she could get on with doing palliative care and stop trying to get us locked down, then we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Cool, so does that mean that all your future comments are only going to relate to the field that you work in?

In all seriousness its going to look like the flu vaccine is it not with a yearly top-up.  Probably targeted at the elderly and children.

My wife was saying the uptake in her school is around 1/5.  No idea what the national picture looks like but that isn't Great.

Sounds like that would be the most sensible option, I just meant I imagine Pfizer will push for whole population boosters to boost their $$$. Maybe its needed but I'm not sure I'd take their word on that one, hopefully government and independent studies are ongoing! Massive respect to them for what they've done so far, but I don't trust them not to push profiteering too far

You can’t expect me not to take umbrage with someone who is openly lobbying for legal bans on people spending time with their loved ones

It makes matters worse when said person has the actual skills needed to save lives but actively chooses not to use them

Fantastic to see an improved number of face covers amongst colleagues and customers the last few days  … still not amazing but people will start following what the majority are doing … even if Boris doesn’t want his popularity hit by making the announcement… he doesn’t even have the consideration for others to wear one in a vaccination centre ffs

He was wearing a mask in the interview he did a couple of days ago.

I'm not a fan of hers but I'd rather stick to criticising her stupid comments rather than her profession!

Your first point isn't an unreasonable one. The way you make it sometimes less so.

Your second is genuinely nuts
