Is this going to get addressed at some point? It's a blatant lie isn't it? Unless Boris is trying to suggest the only reason he knew it was a party was because of the email leak?

It’ll only matter if he would resign, everyone knows it’s a lie but the whole system relies on the Minister doing the honourable thing.

There are other ways for Tories to get rid of a leader though such as a certain number of local Tory parties passing their own votes of no confidence. 

The rules of the 1922 committee are definitely archaic, given during the May debacle you had people physically going into an office and asking Graham Brady to give them there letters back to change their vote.

The no challenge for 12 months wasn't put in after May it was part of the rule Change after Thatcher had beaten off Tarzan's challenge but not by enough to avoid a second ballot and was convinced to resign rather than carry on with the mess. Immunity for 12 months seemed better than that spectacle.

You are right, the change I’m thinking of was immunity for a new Tory leader for 12 months.

yeah, maybe..with these stories coming from telegraph does feel like that...or they're just trying to say it's widespread amongst civil servants in all departments and is not really the fault of Johnson but a systematic problem.

I cant believe none of the cabinet were present at any of these work meetings either ...

That's why I think it would be good to call one. Make his MPs back him, then they look hypocritical if they try to change leader. Basically leave the Tories stuck with a dead duck leader

This is a sabotage mission by the British press, Boris isn’t going anywhere… not yet anyway.

While you might be right in the way it’s all coming out … it needs to be there in the first place to be an issue .. clear as mud there is an issue of a culture within number 10 …
