Ah dammit I missed this! Would have been nice to stick my head in. These likely to become a thing again in the build up?

When's the next one? I'm tempted. Mind you, I am naturally shy and have nothing of substance to say. Then again, you'll be very used to the last part by now.

I'm pretty sure that everyone who have joined the virtual meets were shy the first time or two and some still are. Copious amounts of alcohol have been known to ease this problem and it's not unusual for some or all of the participants to be quite well oiled during the meets and that most certainly includes me. When I finally plucked up the courage to join my first meet not only was I very well oiled but wore a disguise, called myself Arthur Pinrut and my only contribution to the conversation was the occasional crow noise. It was quite some meets later that I finally appeared as the real me.

There's no problem if anyone does feel a little shy. Join the call and just sit and listen, you really don't have to say owt.

It's nice to hear you say all that Dusty. Mainly because it's a relief to know that Arthur Pinrut wasn't a bloody fever dream 😂

Hello Sawdusty,

I have, at least once, joined the virtual meet. I think that I was wearing a mask, or some such, at the time. I seem to recall one of my mates (Jamie) accompanying me t the time. However, I was far too bolloxed drunk to be able to talk coherently, so left Jamie to chat away, even though he probably hasn't even visited the efestivals website, so would have no idea who anyone was.

I think I also 'got on line' with the meet another time but yet again was far too gone to be able to communicate, so dropped out early.

Anyway, thanks for the encouragement. It's a case of needing to be right (in the head) at that particular time when the meet is on. i shall keep my fingers crossed that my 3rd attempt to join in goes a little more smoothly - if it happens at all, that is. 🙂

itll probably be next weekend Yog .... fri or sat which has yet to be decided . no need to be coherent thats half the fun 🙂 ... for anyone that hasnt a clue what these things are about mostly centred around festivals / music but can go dramatically off topic at times and its pretty much people having a chat ... all welcome and feel free to ask if you arent sure or tempted

Cheers Crazy. My memory is now atrocious, so will make a note of it as a reminder. Then it all depends on whether I see the reminder! You are, no doubt, aware of my chronic IT skills. I still don't know how to 'do' an online calendar with reminders etc. It's not for the lack of trying. Most IT stuff is like someone wanting me to understand the Russian language.

    • My party again had an outstanding 4 days in Barca. We made the right call to leave the festival site early at about 10.30 on Thursday to get ourselves some excellent steaks in the city. I am with everyone that the organization should have been clearer about what is going on and also if you would like to get rid of some attendees open more exits, they sent us from gate to gate until we finally were able to get out. Biggest 'disappointment' was the beer price, a YoY increase from 5 to 6 is absolutely nuts!!! (i am living in Switzerland so me making this comment says something 🙂)   Top 10:   1. Men I Trust 2. Role Model (could have been first as well, what a great artist and great songs) 3. The XX 4. The cure (the last 90 minutes) 5. Gorillaz 6. MBV 7. Ninajirachi (another big miss of the organization, clearly on the wrong podium and wonder if Olivia's surprise set had something to do with that and they had to reschuffle late the Occident, Cupra and Port schedules) 8. NewDad 9. Big Thief 10. Annastashia      We did 3 years Barca now and for next year looking at the Porto or Bilbao festivals as an option.
    • Personally if it was me now, I would be grabbing a green camping ticket with the knowledge closer when I've refreshed that I can still choose general if I want to....you can't do the opposite!    I would say if you are happy to watch your headliners and big bands further back to be able to see who you actually plan to later then yes it is fine. Its a much difference experience to any other festival especially food wise and camping surrounds.    Once you're in the arena as well you're not going back unless you've got a gap. If I go again I'll be going with the option of not trying to push the front and enjoying further back as you actually put too much pressure on it than the time take away can forget to enjoy other acts.
    • No complaints about the sound. We were like 2nd set of steps facing stage right in like the middle row.
    • On the whole then, yay or nay...I've had a look on festivals united and there's people who seem converted by Rock Im Park, I can imagine it might be different if it was a washout as RaR is tarmac.   The hotel side would be more to convince the non campers if it's an option. On my first visit to rock am ring we were shuttled into the area where you could stick the car next to the tent which was fantastic as it meant zero lugging of camping gear.
