Pretty much as expected so far, two massively changed teams with little cohesion in a match neither side has a huge incentive to win.

Can’t draw any conclusions beyond that really.

One of my favourite sights this WC has been Harry Maguire picking up the ball in defence and marauding upfield with it.

Yep the only ones that really had a chance were Rashford, Rose and Delph. All of those have actually played their way out of contention for me. 

(Rose has been a bit better going forward than Young but has looked sloppy defensively)

My view is finishing second in the group offers a more likely path to the semis, but winning the group offers a better chance of winning the World Cup. It depends what your ambitions are. I’m not sure Belgium and England combined have won more than a handful of World Cup knockout games in the last 20 years, don’t think you can turn down a second round match against japan.

I don’t really rate Sweden, but Switzerland can be decent on their day.
