I think its worth remembering there is a lot of older (aka over 25 haha) generation of metal fans who are also into alot of 90's alt-rock/alt-metal.  So could see Download putting alot of metalcore, emo and deathcore on other stages...i.e a new vs old split rather than metal v non-metal.

could be that. they played in 2013 in 4th down and in 2014 they got a sub in sonisphere. maybe they don't do Download anymore because they feel like they deserve a higher slot

That's MUUUUUUUCH better. If the top nine bands are reflective of days and positions, then I'd be hoping for a hell of a closing couple of bands on stage 2. Because that's utterly horrific. But the other days would have me glued.

No i'd guess that Whitesnake, Die Anterword and Rob Zombie are 2nd stage headliners.

Yes seems reasonable and probably follows suit of what’s above it. Don’t know what specific days they’d go to though.

It's only Whitesnake that make me think you might be right about that. Could easily see Antwoord and Zombie being on the main stage despite them probably being better fits headlining 2nd though.
