They headlined Reading and Leeds one year so they probably were.

I was at that show,  but even back then if it were a one day show like BST it wouldn't have happened. Pearl Jam, Muse & Arctic Monkeys were the big draws at Reading that year from memory.

They were billed as a Co-Headliner with Kaiser Chiefs (I think it was the first time they tried the quantity not quality headliner bit).

Franz did play after Kaisers for the Reading date at least though.

No they werent. FF were the clear headliner that year. They co-headlined with Scissor Sisters at V not long before but headlined Reading on their own.

Yeah Jeff Lynne is going to get a year older on his birthday so although he's currently 69 (hehe) by next summer he will be 70.

Interesting

Shutup you turd I was saying he couldn't be included in the "3 acts in their 70s" clue cos he's 69 but then because he's 70 by the time BST takes place maybe he could be included.

    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
    • All I'm asking for is Rancid
    • MGK would probably end my interest in this festival completely.
    • The basement, deafheaven, Mannequin pussy clash is v annoying. Also not sure why pinkpantheress is in the tent, surely going to be ramos.
    • It's just this:   Search up which orgs are currently in Tufton St, funded by Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, and Matthew Elliot.   It's moved on from "Vote Leave" and "Leave Means Leave" into the lobbyists against net zero. It's the same funding from the same people in the same place lobbying our media and politicians.
