Sorry, I meant in previous years the metro had the announcement of headliners in it on the day of announcement. So I thought we might not have to wait until midday for headliners, although we would get the full announcement at lunchtime

I thought they did it for latitude the year it was tdcc/lily allen, damon albarn, black keys.

I think these two doing festivals that probably only knock out one day of Latitude (that's certainly the case with Snow Patrol) makes them more likely, if anything

I assume that may be The Killers this year, going off the info a few pages back. Not exactly 'out of nowhere' but by Latitude's standards it would be.
