18 Nude

19 Let Down

Certainly doesn't look like a festival setlist.

Idioteque haven't been played in the encore for a long time, usually about 13-14 which isn't that far off from today.

Think I was zoning in on it closing at Coachella #2, my bad

To be honest, Nude into Let Down would be a strong winner at Glasto - both would go down well, me thinks.

Now Separator in the encore... did anyone even tell them it's a festival?

Even though I love that song, it's a pretty weird choice now.

Agree on this, mind you,

Reckoner to close main set. That's a good encore, but... festival-friendly?

Compare and contrast:

Nude
Let Down
Seperator
Paranoid Android
Reckoner

OR

No Surprises
Nude
2+2=5
Bodysnatchers
Fake Plastic Trees

OR

You and Whose Army?
2+2=5
There There
Paranoid Android
Street Spirit

Which would go down best on the Farm?

Though of course, it all depends on what has come before it.

Third one would go down best imo

edit: tonights being the weakest of the three

Throwing my own hat on it and also going last one - though in personal preference, would only take if FPT formed the second encore with Karma Police and something else :P

Good Lord, Lotus Flower in the encore again too. Three tracks from KOL in a festival headline set, that's... brave.

There There second in for second encore, feels a bit "too little, too late" reading the setlist.

See, this is the problem. They deliver stonkingly good setlists over back to back nights that frame Glasto as being potentially the stuff of casual-winning legend - the sort of set that means the folk who catch them crossing over suddenly come home in seven or eight days time, converted to the school of Radiohead.

And then on the last festival before the Farm, they turn out a set that might fly in a small arena - but will be DOA at the Pyramid Stage.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say I'm not happy about a load of 20 year old outtakes potentially infecting the set on Friday when they have so many newer, better songs I actually know that could get dropped.

Do you mean the likes of I Promise? I doubt they'll play any of those. I don't expect a noticeably higher number of OKC songs at all.

I don't think Radiohead play sets to try to convert-casuals anymore, really.

Anyway, they've done much worse in the past. Look at the Coachella 2012 setlists - loads of TKOL, weird songs like Kid A, Feral, Staircase, The Daily Mail, then-unreleased Identikit, downers like House of Cards and Give Up the Ghost in the encore. Weird set with Karma Police and Paranoid randomly thrown in, and that's at fucking Coachella. They're capable of that.

But this tour the festival sets seems to be really a lot more crowd-pleasing, not quite sure about today.

They're off. There There is closer - 24 song set.

Dutch Twitter is not happy.

Edit: Not sure how to embed tweets or I'd link a few. There's the general rampage of fans complaining about the lack of Creep - but a large amount also saying that "it wasn't their night" essentially. Sounds like Thom didn't give great vocal service this evening.

Encore 2: Lotus Flower ... :help:

The songs that appear inevitable are mostly exciting, which is great - Ful Stop, Myxomatosis, Idioteque, Exit Music (For A Film) etc. Two of these songs in the encore(s) and I'll leave very satisfied: Let Down, Reckoner, Fake Plastic Trees, How to Disappear Completely, Just, Present Tense, Where I End And You Begin or The Bends.

sometimes i think radiohead shows (especially at festivals like tonight) would fare better with the exact same songs played, just reshuffled.

for example

  1. Daydreaming
  2. There There
  3. Ful Stop
  4. 15 Step
  5. All I Need
  6. Myxomatosis
  7. Separator
  8. Desert Island Disk
  9. Climbing Up The Walls
  10. Pyramid Song
  11. Identikit
  12. Bloom
  13. The Gloaming
  14. The Numbers
  15. Exit Music (For A Film)
  16. Everything In Its Right Place
  17. Idioteque

  18. Lotus Flower
  19. Let Down
  20. Nude
  21. Reckoner
  22. Paranoid Android

  23. Bodysnatchers
  24. Street Spirit (Fade Out)

exactly the same songs, just in a better order imo

Definitely reads better but compared with the wunderkid Italy shows, still stale. You'd want them rather than this as the Glasto template. (Though Let Down to the end deserves a medal, well done there!)

The tracks missing in action from the previous two nights then.

No Karma Police, Airbag, Lucky, No Surprises, Weird Fishes, 2+2=5, The National Anthem, You and Whose Army?, Fake Plastic Trees and Creep. It's only ten tracks absent that popped up over the previous few nights - but how many of these would be stone-cold Glasto moments on Friday?

Edit: This being said, the absence of FPT tonight - and hopefully in Dublin - bodes well for song rotation in my mind, since I've relatively sure that factors into it somehow...
