I always imagine that in all the excitement of great music and festival debauchery there wouldn't be many people who sit through a whole film for 2 hours of their busy days. but for those that have I have a couple of questions;

Is the cinema itself any good? I've tried watching films/shorts at other festivals and usually the noise of the surrounding stages massively intrudes on the enjoyment of what's in front of you.

Do people in there treat it like a cinema or just a place to sit and rest and talk through the whole thing?

I have a couple of quite parts of my weekend that happen to coincide with films I'd happily watch. So just wondering if its worth a go.

Have only been to the Arcade Fire film they showed a few years ago.  People were just watching and not talking through it or anything like that but there was a bit of noise from outside although not enough to spoil it.

If I was you I'd spend 10 minutes in there at the start of the fest when something is on and you'll know whether it will be worth your time to go and watch what you want later.

I still miss the big screen outdoor cinema they used to have a few years ago and I wish they'd bring that back

i have watched something there once, I say watched slept 

 

but this year I plan on seeing finding Dory at 11 am Sunday morning. I am looking forward to the visuals

I've been to see a couple of films, and nobody talked really, so it was good. The stewards don't allow you to sit in chairs (in case of fire evacuations), so it can be hard to sit comfortably for 90 minutes or so. Also, if you leave to go for a pee, you probably won't get back in - that's what happened to my cousin anyway.

i've seen a couple of films in there. spent most of thursday one year because A. I had a mammoth hangover. and B. it was lashing it down all day. the screen is a good size and quality, although there are a few spots in the tent that have obscured view. Not much background noise either it's easy to hear the audio. Never really noticed any talking and the stewards make people sit down on the ground so everyone can see. If there's something on you fancy give it a go

I watched Inside Out last year.

Ate a brownie at 10am & watched a Pixar film. - It was a great way to start the Sunday!

It's good, I recommend the morning - especially if it's raining, however it can get very busy so get there 30mins early for a good spot in the queue.

Most people sit on the floor (take something to sit on, if you have a chair then you'll be positioned near the back)

Then again, it's Glastonbury so surely there's something else you could be doing!? - However, it's good to have a rest to conserve energy!

I'll see how it goes but I'd also like to see Finding Dory (I'm into animation)

I used to love the outdoor cinema, especially on the thursday night when they put on something like the Goonies. I think I went to the indoor cinema when it was near John Peel (I think- or am imagining this?)- it was okay, quite a funny crowd for Lost Boys on the thursday night. Since it moved to the acoustic, I haven't really bothered- the few times I've tried to go it's either been too long a queue or the films been late/cancelled.

The outdoor cinema was a great place to just go and zonk out at the end of the evening. Fell asleep there on atleast a couple of occassions.

Have a mate who always goes to the sunday morning film (animation) as part of his Glastonbury rituals. Finding Dory should be good!

Last film I saw in there was Up. If anyone was thinking about talking though it, that opening ten minutes pretty much shut everyone up (apart from maybe the occasional sob)

I'm incapable of watching that bit without some eye moisture. Even clip shows set me off.

When I saw the film at the pictures, every time I found myself thinking things were going well for the man I thought "but she's dead, what's the point?"

Might head over to watch a bit of Star Wars on Saturday afternoon. Wouldn't like to stay for the full thing but watching half an hour (especially if it's raining) appeals to me.

Does it always have such a big hiatus on Sunday afternoon? Wondering if there's room for a secret showing of Independence Day 2 which premieres that weekend?

Old enough to have seen it when it first came out in the 70s! Except I didn't bother at the time and haven't since for some reason. 

I have seen Star Trek, if that helps. :-)

But yeah. You have to remedy this as soon as possible. In fact, I'd suggest that's how you spend your post-Glasto recovery period. It'll make you feel much better

This isn't your 1977 original Star Wars they're showing (if it was, I'd be right there because I've never seen it screened in a cinema), this is last year's sequel. I feel bad for you, Star Wars is life.

Only film I ever watched at a festival was The Iron Giant last year at Green Man, it was well before any bands started and the only reason I made the decision to sit on the ground for the whole film is because it wasn't out on blu-ray then so I hadn't seen it in years. It's on blu-ray now though, which I think we can all agree was solely down to my petitioning.

Hopefully, I've gleaned enough info about Star Wars over the years to know what the Big Bang Theory guys yak on about all the time. 

Was last year's sequel the one where Harrison Ford broke his ankle doing a stunt and then crashed his plane on a golf course?

Last year, two friends and I watched Rocky Horror at silly o'clock Sunday morning. It was excellent! Everyone sang along, and it was even signed by a couple of blokes dressed accordingly  It was nice to sit down and chill out for a bit, sort of like going to the greenfields but with more Timewarp! 

It was my first visit to the cinema tent and it won't be my last, but I would only go for a "cult classic" like that, or one of the silent films with live band. I missed them last year. 

So yes, worth a visit if it's something you want to see and it doesn't clash!
