Should be all set up and ready to go for our first year in the campervan field! Looking forward to the new experience after 12 years of camping on Pennards.

I would have just seen the sun come up over Stonehenge and will be on my way to Glastonbury town for a good breakfast and a snooze in the sun :-)

Is anyone else heading down for the Solstice?

I am looking into it, but was planning on staying in Salisbury. What routes can I get to Glastonbury from there? The only easy  option I have found is to head to Bristol, but I assume there are other shorter ways. I just don't know where to go or what routes to take. My plan is Sunday London arrival, then head to Salisbury. Hit the solstice and head out wednesday to Glasto.

I might be able to help you with some of that but it depends on whether you are driving by hire car, or going by train or coach? And roughly what time did you want to arrive at Glasto on the Wednesday?

I will be flying into London from Texas and probably taking a coach to Salisbury. I know very little about this area. So am heading in blind, but no easy route to Glastonbury has been the issue of heading to Salisbury. I figure this is the only easy chance I will have to see Stonehenge up close, so don't want to miss it. It's either that or hang out in London or Bristol, but Salisbury looks decent.

Was planning on getting to Glastonbury as early wednesday as possible. Will most likely have a duffel bag and hiking pack.

You can get a train from Salisbury to Castle Cary with one change. Takes about an hour. The 6.02 from Salisbury will get you to Castle Cary for about 7.15. AM.

There is a shuttle bus to take you to the festival from there

Hopefully by now we'll be camped up and sorted in the Campervan East field so that I can get on with enjoying my 60th (How many - Christ how did that happen!!) birthday and looking forward to Wed and Wristband collection and trek up to the Stones for the full on panoramic view of our home (for the next few days anyway!!!)

This time in 4 week I will have probably been up for a good few hours due to the lack of sleep from being too excited, maybe a bit hungover also. Our coach from Glasgow isn't until 11pm so we'll prob be doing some serious wall climbing most of the day lol.

Il be on the same boat, it's a looooong wait to head down over night from G-Funk, the day absolutely drags in, I'm off work as well so il he double/triple checking everything is sorted and ready to roll

Crikey, it must be about 28 years since I last went in there.

It was a little lively and for reasons I can't recall my friend (who was a bit of a provocative arse) nearly got hit by an ashtray someone threw.

:taunt: G-funk? Lol.

Too long a day! We could always go to the pub for a few hours before the bus but don't trust ourselves getting drunk with the tickets and luggage, it's a disaster waiting to happen! I only work until Friday but doing a wee Sunday shift to make the weekend go quicker, got Monday and Tuesday to do the checks lol
