In truth, I'm not 100% clear what Event Management is.

My dad is very good at this. He's arranged his 80th birthday party, didn't include the venue details and then told us we'd have to leave by 4pm. Class act.

At the risk of invalidating my highly thought out survey by giving sneak previews of the outcomes....

No.

Yes.

I'm shocked by the former! Delighted by the latter.

Students eh? What a load of fuss over nothing. I was able to compose, create, and issue a survey before noon, and receive all my responses by 3pm. Not only that, but I've also analysed the results. All whilst still doing my day job. They don't know they're born.

OK. Here's the scientific proof you have all been waiting for.  Link below....

I can state - with the statistics to back me up.....

Radiohead albums are, in the view of over 35 year old Glastonbury goers - crap. However if you must listen to them, let me steer you towards OK Computer.

Most over 35's are to be found in The Park or West Holts.

They eat all over the site (at least one vote for all options) however seem to favour Goan Fish Curries, Ghandi's Flip Flop and Manic Organic.

We're all partying at West Holts to EW&F on Saturday night. There will be a few middle aged people at New Order or still trying to find Radiohead. I can only imagine those of us at Adele are under duress from the younger generation. (Like me). Quite honestly I envy those of you in a puddle of vomit & urine. Only joking. She's a national treasure.

We can blame the youngsters for peeing in the hedges. Not a single over 35 does this. This made me really happy, funnily enough. Surprisingly, over half of you like the nostalgia of the long drop. I'm more of a compost loo man myself, but each to their own.

Sadly, most of you see a tent as the most important piece of kit. This is just plain wrong. You can share a tent.  Drugs are bad. Warm cider is the devils work. And fudge is... well it's fudge. The answer is definitely lip balm, and in the words of Forrest Gump, that's all I have to say about that.

Now that's what I call a survey.  Results well analysed and a useful pointer to any over 35s with helpful recommendations from their peer group on how to spend some of their time.

The choice of tent or drugs was a no brainer for me as I take a caravan. Again over 35s might be more likely to be taking a caravan, campervan or motorhome.

If I were to be picky I would have included an 'other' in the food choices to allow me to give an honourable mention to La Grande Bouffe as a tartiflette is always a 'must have' meal at least once at Glastonbury.

Certainly a first.

Funnily enough I'll be running a four day course on event management starting on Monday but it's a bit of a con as they are a community group and the people who've hired me to run the course have already decided on the precise format that the event (a film festival) the group will be 'planning' should take. So my job is to steer the group, without them realising, to decide to organise the event along the exact lines that have already been decided by the powers-that-be.

I'm not particularly happy with that approach , so I'll also be getting them to consider what shape or form the event might take in the second year when they decide to make it bigger and better.

You're very welcome. The food question - I get the need for 'other'. The toilets intrigue me. But given it's an over 35's survey I won't ask.

It took me years to actually bother to trek over to them.. But once you've discovered the flushing loos at the top of big ground, it's impossible to go back.

I just have to say that although - clearly - the whole exercise was completely tongue in cheek, I actually surprised myself by how ridiculously intent I was in checking the responses every 10 minutes, and just how happy (and not a little smug) it made me that not one person said they peed in a hedge!

LTFLNT.

Drugs or Tent.  Tricky one.

This was the only one that really made me think.

Obviously it's drugs.

I'm a bit sad my answers weren't included in the results, however I'm pretty sure that, at the age of 38, my answers fit in with what is right and proper for a *ahem* woman of my age.

I don;t understand why people pee in hedges. Not only is it terribly bad for the environment/festival, but there is nothing to lean on when you've overdone the gin and are trying to pull your tights up!

That's where my survey comes in. We can now say - with proof to back it up - that it's solely an issue with the younger generation. ;)

there wasn't a question where I didn't have an answer option i could choose, nor did you ignore the fact if I said no to a question I couldn't then answer the following questions as you'd presumed I would say yes - good effort b+

Not wanting to create extra work Tranquility but, as it's such a good survey, it would be genuinely interesting to see the answers if you were to devise an amended, more flexible, version taking the above comments into account.

Alternatively the survey could also be offered to Under 35s to see what different answers they come up with.

I'm hosed for the weekend now grumpy, might get round to it next week. However I don't have any copyright on these questions or anything.... If anyone else fancies having a go, its just a bit of fun!

I would say 'I'll watch some of New Order then run over to West Holts to catch the end of EW&F, but let's be honest, by the end of a long day and a New Order gig I'll have put my back out and will need to go for a sit down :)
