The only hope left is that Sigur Ros do the Saturday and not the Friday. I know for some that's cause a NO clash, but I'm selfish and don't care about that. Sigur Ros vs LCD would be the worst clash I've experienced at a festival. Please don't make it happen!

Its the bristol gig on the thursday which is killing the Sigur Ros saturday dream for me. If theyre down the road on thursday, you would expect them to play G Friday and travel to Ireland ahead of their show there on Sunday. Words cannot describe how broken i will be when they drop the line up and see this inevitable clash

Before this for me at a festival it was Bon Iver .vs. Godspeed you! Black Emperor as a clash at Coachella in 2012. This would defecate all over that for a clash, but unfortunately I can see this happening. Logistically for Sigur Ros playing the Friday makes so much more sense than the Saturday, and with the info that's been given it's unlikely LCD will be on any other day but Friday? Am I right in saying that? There's was a small hope of me wanting them to play the Sunday, but then that would probably mean missing out on EW&F (who seem to be nailed on as the Sunday night West Holts headliner).

playing Bristol on the Thursday then Ireland on Sunday, makes the most logistical sense.

I would prefer them to play the Saturday though myself but will see them no matter who up against.

That is true!

Either Friday or Saturday will be a nightmare clash - I want to see Muse again on Friday (but will gladly miss them for SR) and also NO on Saturday (again, will gladly miss them for SR). Seen both Muse and NO before but never SR so they are the priority for me. 

Sunday I am already booked up for EWF as it seems thats their only available date so thank fuck they can't clash with my Sunday!

Really? I have to confess only to having last year on which to base my 'knowledge' but, thoroughfares notwithstanding, WH felt a lot bigger to me than the Park, and I spent plenty of time at both!

Hopefully the Bestival experience means that they have definitely been booked to close a stage, be it WH or Park. I'm hoping for Friday WH, with Explosions in the Sky headlining Saturday's Park. I could happily leave the festival there and then and not feel short-changed! Sunday's headliner will come from my obsessive homework on the entire line-up as none of the likely announced contenders interest me a jot!

I think with the park it depends on what you consider the "arena" part of that stage, as the field stretches miles back to the fence. But I dont consider that part of the stage area so I agree with you that in my mind west holts is much the bigger stage.

That being said, if sigur ros are up against a headliner they will get a relatively paltry crowd so could comfortably play anywhere really!

I've just had to admit I'm gonna miss these - they're gonna end up clashing with at least one of LCD, New Order and Underworld. 

Still kicking myself I didn't pick up a last minute ticket to their Notts Arena gig...

Do you really think so, russy? The runes seem to suggest that, assuming they headline (and dear gods, let them play in the dark!), it'll be against Muse. Who have we pencilled for Other header on Friday? Surely there are enough people who actually understand frickin' music enough to know that SR are where they should be. Man, if I get to see two Friday night WH headliners in a row and have that good a time, I am truly blessed (Hot Chip were bloody great!).

Yeah, I kind off thought so. I take The Park to be from at/just adjacent to or behind the sounddesk to the stage, and so considerably smaller than WH, which feels like a 'normal' decent sized festival stage field.

Sadly I think so. Two of the greatest ever headline gigs I've seen - portishead in 2013 and flaming lips in 2010 - took place in front of shamefully small crowds. At glastonbury you are among hordes of bloody fools!

I think people are playing down Sigur Ros, they play quite big venues around the world don't they? I'm thinking they're crowd will be pretty big, possibly the biggest out of LCD & Underworld. Underworld will get the smallest mos' def'. It's just such a shame that it's looking likely that these clashes are going to happen. Hugely unpleasant.

Well, were that to come to pass I would relish the chance further to enhance my air of superiority by being at the correct headline set.
