FIVE songs from OKC. When was the last time they did that?! Even with Feral this is amazing.

Is this Lyon show a festival?

I'm so excited to see their Primavera set list. I've no idea what the festival shows will look like.

Nah, just the hiatus. It'd have to be touring a new album and it doesn't seem likely that they've been secretly recording anything with the other members' bands on tour and that EP thing not so long ago. Major bands take fucking ages with a record and trail it out forever regardless; see Radiohead.

How long is the hiatus going to be, tho?

If it's a year they're taking off, they'd be back in the studio this autumn, and out touring the new album by next summer.

I've no idea if that'll be how it goes, but I think it's too soon to write them off for next year just yet when we all know that somewhere in their minds will be a Glastonbury show to fulfil.

Anyone know the reason why The Park finishes early on a Sunday? Got to be some reason behind it. It cannot be the noise, I'm camped up there most years and its arguably louder the Sunday than any other night.

I was previously told it was a licensing requirement, so whilst it may still be noisy, they are limited to the amplified sound volume they can pump out

Isn't it because any extra volume adds to the cumulative off-site levels, and the total decibels allowed are lower on the Sunday night? So dropping The Park allows them to come in under the total level. Just a guess.

Chris and the lads must be planning on turning it up to 11 for the 'Heroes' cover.

Does anyone retain any hope at all for anything this year then? I was pretty gutted tuesday but I'll be forever thankful to this forum for my roundhouse tickets!

nah, if Neil's had word that they're headlining next year then i can think we can safely rule out them appearing this year. the wait is a killer, but in the end a headline performance from them will top any kind of secret smaller set

Nope, I really don't think we can.

They're going to be there anyway, we know that much. I still don't think it's impossible they'll play.

i just don't see any appropriate venue or open slot for them tbh. there aren't any TBA's or Special Guests they could slot in to like there have been in previous years. i've a feeling your man who had the info of them being booked just heard 'booked for Glastonbury' which meant next year (considering both this years and last years headliners were apparently sorted out a while ago, or at least had some kind of verbal agreement)

I just can't see any possible slot they might play. There's not even that many Special Guest slots. It's not like Thom DJing - they need a proper stage.

Unless there's a fictional act somewhere on we haven't twigged yet...

Tame Impala... their disguise is Tame Impala!!

I guess Thom could do a solo set somewhere? But I think that's about as much as we could hope for.

I'm struggling to see how/when/where/why it could happen.

    • It's the photo that keeps on giving;
    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.
