Heh. Not quite, Scruffster! Mrs Woffy has decided she wants to come to Glastonbury too. Mini Woff is in a decent routine, will be that much older by then and Mrs Woffy is probably gonna do Friday a.m. (like me) and leave Sunday night.

And with the type of exam it is a lot of unis quarantine you through the day anyway so you can't speak to other candidates so I'm most likely completely fucked. I also don't really wanna lose two days of revision just before my final exams.

Sorry for the rant I'm just unbelievably pissed off after being so happy. If I miss Radiohead at the Roundhouse whilst having tickets for it I'll kill someone or something.

Mate I will honest with you here. When I was doing my degree I booked onto my mates stag doo in Vegas for the start of May a few years ago. My exams previous to this had been at the rear end of May.

Exam timetable came out and 1st exam was control engineering 2 days after I was due to fly back from Vegas. Now I don't know if anyone knows anything about control systems but it is absolutely ridiculously hard and the subject area I found the most difficult. To make matters worse New Order were actually playing in one of the hotels in Vegas the day I was due to land.

In the end I pulled out of the trip. It caused a load mither and I lost a load of cash. It was the best decision I have made in my life. I scraped the marks I needed and ended up with a 1st. If I had gone to Vegas then there was no way I would have passed that. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good. Your friends and family will have to understand your predicament. Use not being able to go as even more motivation to succeed. Your degree could be the single most important thing you take on in your entire life and in all likelihood you will never get another opportunity to do it.

Once you pass and get yourself a good job then make it up to your mate. There will be other times to see Radiohead.

As for me I have made it up for missing NO in Vegas by travelling all over watching them on this tour. Nothing to stop you doing the same in regards to Radiohead next time round.

If anyone needs a hand trying to get tickets this morning them give me a shout. Not sure how it works as do you not need some kind of account?  I am sat here though with a brew and available to give a hand if needs be.

Working at a Uni I can tell you that exam dates published 3-4 months out are awalys provisional, but they should have been made that very clear to you. Sounds like a major cock up on their end.

If you want to get an early time slot I definitely wouldn't mention you booked Radiohead tickets. I sympathise hugely with your situation but their response will likely be "you shouldn't book anything during your exam period, it's for intense revision and nothing else, regardless of when your actual exams are" etc. If you want to get an early slot it'd be best to make up a porky. Family birthday, wedding etc. Uni's can be quite stubborn on stuff like this and they rarely if ever take sympathy on someone needing extenuating circumstances because of a holiday, event etc.

Edit: but yeah I do agree with easty. It's your decision at the end of the day but he is spot on.

It seems more like a traditional queue than on Wednesday in that it actually counts you down.

Take me back to the days of queueing up to get your tickets. I remember having to queue overnight outside certain venues to get Oasis tickets for Maine Rd, Knebworth and the GMEX. At least you knew you were getting a ticket if you were prepared to put the effort in.

A few years ago when I lived in Reading you could still buy the festival tickets from HMV. I think they had a presale allocation the day before general sale and you physically had to queue up to get one. Kickin' it old school.
