VisionOfLove
Last few years we left around 12ish and the odd food stall was open but not much else, I imagine by afternoon pretty much everything would be gone Edited October 7, 2015 by VisionOfLove
Sawdusty surfer
There's always a few food stalls open Monday afternoon. If I was a ticket buying visitor, there is no way that I would leave until Mon afternoon or later.
stuartbert two hats
The Green Fields always seems to me to keep going the longest. Does that seem right to you, Sawdust?
big__phil
Last year I was in no rush/in no state to leave until lunchtime/early afternoon from Pennard's. Anyway it wasn't just food that was still open - there was definately some sort of party going on in Arcadia. Probably just an after-party for the crew who worked there. Sawdusty surfer
The Green Fields always seems to me to keep going the longest. Does that seem right to you, Sawdust? Yes, and Arcadia/SL/B9 etc crew bars are always open on the Monday night for crew parties. Obviously no crew wristbands are needed then as the event is finished
Paul ™
Few years ago, 2010 I think, I was on site the Monday night and there was a traders party going on in the Bimble Inn (Park area) and it was £2 a pint
lucyginger
We never leave until about 5pm. It means you can stay up Sunday night, sleep Monday til lunchtime, then pack down slowly. You're also likely to find a very cheap brekkie/lunch as the food stalls try to get rid of stuff

Leggins
We always leave Monday afternoon. I recommend anyone who can afford the time to do the same. By staying till the end and seeing it through to the finish, it somehow helps deal with the fact it is all over for another year. There's plenty of food stalls open to keep you going too. Untz
Let's not forget the main reason to leave until the afternoon: that grim Monday hangover. You do need to be careful of your stuff. In Park Home there were roaming children scouring anything that might have been left behind. Fair enough, but I was too scared to leave the tent alone (although that was probably partly due to that Monday hangover).

Before then its theft. This was explained to me this year as I began slightly earlier. I normally leave on Tuesday.

ian the worm
Seems silly to ask is there much good stuff left apart from cider and wellies Depends what you need. I met a bloke with young kids that had gathered a years supply of wet wipes. I wanted 12 folding chairs this year for my wedding party. It helps to plan ahead. Mark E. Spliff
Technically, tatting begins at 6pm sharp when the public should have left. Before then its theft. This was explained to me this year as I began slightly earlier. I normally leave on Tuesday. Things have tightened up over the past 2 years. I had a run-in with some corrupt security on the Monday at Reading last year. These lot were just making sure nobody took anything that they wanted for themselves. However at Glastonbury this year, I went round and checked with any available stewards/security and for the first time got told that officially it was a 'no' although they'd turn a blind eye as I was polite and friendly etc. but that I should keep an eye out for other security. Unlike previous years, I saw almost no other people collecting tents and it didn't feel the same. So much so that for the first time in 10 years, I decided not to bother - all I do with them is give them away, so I didn't think it was worth the potential hassle. I think the big difference is that over the past couple of years, various businesses have started up collecting tents and hiring them out in subsequent years. As they don't want anyone else doing it, the official line has changed.

SloopJohnB
What about car parks and traffic? Is it quieter the later you leave it?

Actually in my case, it was the 12 year olds in the next tent that told me off for starting early as their parents wouldn't let them start till 6pm.
