Robin Pecknold opening for her for some European and US dates. Fingers crossed for Glasgow.

Saw her in Paris this year and she was so incredibly good. Trying to imagine how she would be on an outdoor stage the size of The Park or Pyramid. I'd rather she was kept away from the Pyramid personally.

Get back in that studio Rob. I've been waiting for the Fleet Foxes album for a ridiculous amount of time now.

Robin went back to college hence why it has been more than quiet on the Fleet Foxes front. I know he was also struggling with how big they had got in terms of the venues they ended up playing at on the Helplessness Blues tour.

I have found it quite funny in hindsight thinking how Josh Tillman must have been sitting there behind the drumkit getting frustrated with his frontman's lack of charisma and general awkwardness communicating with a large audience, which awoke the beast that turned into Father John Misty.

For me personally, I was ecstatic at the news that Robin has come back out of hibernation. I have missed him and his songs massively over the last 4 years.

Ahh fair enough, I didn't know that! I just remembered them teasing 3rd album sessions on FB/Twitter or something a couple years back :(. New solo material is something at least, I'm sure I'll be on board soon.

I made a friend of mine come to watch FJM at The Park this year and they refused to believe me all weekend that a man like Tillman could possibly have been in Fleet Foxes

I had a friend who flatly refused to come and watch him at The Park because he used to be in Fleet Foxes. He has also refused to listen to any of his music because he was in Fleet Foxes. The day will come one day soon when he finally bites the bullet and realises what he has been missing out on.

Back to Robin, I hardly recognised him when I saw the story http://www.stereogum.com/1848287/fleet-foxes-robin-pecknold-to-open-for-joanna-newsom-with-all-new-solo-set/news/?utm_source=sc-fb&utm_medium=ref&utm_campaign

Got tix for Liverpool - glad it's allocated seats cause Manchester was a bit of a Royal Rumble when the doors opened.

I sauntered in at the start of the support and got a not-great seat on the top shelf. I played it casually because I knew I had a great seat in Bristol. My Liverpool seat looks like it's in a decent spot, middle of row J in the stalls.

Heh...yeah.  I honestly did think of sitting further back for that very reason, but figured she'll probably wear trousers this time

She's been wearing very long dresses on this tour, so you can be saved the embarrassment.

Owen's little intermission speech following the first "nananananana" :D

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
