doesn't seem like the type of act Rob would go for. i highly doubt it's them

Yeah I wouldn't have thought they'd book 2 "guitar headliners" in one year. But then again I can't think of any festivals left that are currently missing a headliner?

Plenty internationally!  The Libertines' current tour takes in loads of overseas festivals, nothing in the UK (yet).  Hopefully it won't be them though.  I'd be quite surprised if it was.

Could Lana Del Rey be in the running? No UK festivals announced and is playing Electric Picnic in Ireland the week before

More of a Big Top headliner than a Main Stage headliner, surely?

She looks to be headlining Electric Picnic and I'm sure she played Arenas last time she was over here, however I may just be completely overestimated her size

Yeah I thought we'd been here before. This is from page 1 of this thread!

Could Lana Del Rey enter a headline spot at Bestival? Honeymoon her new track seems like her production and sound has matured to a very interesting 'soundtrack'. I could be completely wrong in suggesting her though.

... Although I appreciate if you're not a fan, that was probably no more special than "Benny from Crossroads's first gig in years, and a world exclusive at that".

But Missy was worth it. (let me work it etc...)

She would've been a great sub headliner in the big top. There's not many uk/European festivals that would've pinned her to a main stage headline slot that's for sure.

So it looks increasingly likely my friends and I will be returning to Bestival this year as its the only festival that fits into all our worldly travels (sadly not me travelling) and we like to do at least 1 big blow out weekend all together a year.

I'm not savvy with anything that's happening this year but am sure whoever is playing will be great. I take it that Major Lazer and the Cure are two of the headliners. What is the consensus on Lazer? I don't know much/anything about them, will they be worth a watch and if so where do I start with then?

Your helps are much appreciated.

Major Lazer are my favourite live act around. They're just a big dirty bomb of dancehall-inspired energy. They absolutely destroyed the place when they last played the main stage.

I think the Apocalypse Soon EP is probably the quickest way to get an idea about whether you'd like them.

Cheers for the recommendation, gave them a listen today at work - probably not the best place to enjoy them stuck behind a desk - but I see exactly what you're saying - can see them being a great place to be if in the right mood. I actually did myself a slight disservice aswell and recognised a few of their songs.

Whats the perceived spread of the acts? Who is headlining big top on each day? do we know?

Apologies if this has been covered in depth
