Cracking work gents; can imagine some newcomers will be a little daunted looking at this. Give it 10 years or so and you'll know bits of it like the back of your hand but still have new things to come across.

Awesome work, the map looks amazing! Quite handy as well for those wondering about how busy certain campsites will be as this overhead shot is from the Wednesday (around 3-4pm I would guess).

I've often thought that one of those corners on the walkway between Silver Hayes and Other has to be the worst camping spot in the entire festival. Any other contenders for this?

That's where we've camped for the last 2 years. At the very bottom and centre of the pic you posted. I like it there, very central. I am trying to pitch a move back to Pennards for this year though.

when the very first overhead was made - the company who made it did mention some details
so what you see is ' not one image ' - its a mosaic of images taken at diffrent times so its impossible to work out which is which.
this is a shot ' from 2011 { although taken at the end }
it just shows you how much they can see
the 2011 is 3GB's in size

What a great map. Love it! Thank you to all involved in making it! It's also confirmed to me that I definitely want to camp in Bushy Ground again. Right at the bottom between that, the trees and Rivermead. Can't wait!

Is worthy view is so big that does necessarily mean since its arrival there is more space for camping within the site?

I always assumed that Worthy View was an extension to the old capacity so I doubt it, but may be wrong.

Large 2014 Google Earth overlay { with 2015 update }
thanks to Staberinde , Tort, Lou's other half, Glasto-watch , H4C and I helped out with the bars
this is the final version { for 2015 }
well done to Staberinde for all his hard work

Cheers Brian, I'll be getting this printed off. :)

It has freed up all that space on Row Mead, although you can't camp in that space. But it will have made a difference with extra pockets of space in the other campsites with the thousands that now camp in Worthy View. :)

I camped in Bushy Ground when it was crew only although it did not have a name and it was a different shape so one field merged into another.
the current area heading North is a big dip down and if its wet you may regret it
when it was crew only ' no one camped in the dip '
this image is from 2009 when it was crew only - note the exit path is not in the same place as last/this year but you can clearly see there is no tents close to the trees.
so is there any reason why you would camp in the lowest area ?

Thanks for all the interest in this, and sorry for all the mistakes. I am mostly embarrassed about the 'SW' corner instead of SE.

I'm working on an A3 printable map with a stage and bar list with grid location attached

So I'll be reading this topic to note all the mistakes to try and correct them. I have a friend on site who is going to send me this years A3 grid map, that should be out soon.

Thanks again to Glast-worker (and others) for his help

somewhere on a forum someone posted a video clip that shows the
Mandela tent being erected one year and then taken down and then put back up again and it was a big puzzle why.
anyway I have been in touch with the Tent Manager that year { who now lives in America } and he has confirmed that the move was due to a ' health and safety assessment ' - I reckon it was moved three feet - anyway once it was moved three feet ' they passed the health and safety assessment and everyone was happy

Good lord man with that much to put on a few mistakes is de-rigeur! Never seen a big bit of work without them.

Great to see you again, and thanks for all the work that must have taken, it's a brilliant map

Missed the SW corner but my favourite spot was "Croissant Nerf" should be Neuf. "Grovie Movie" should be Groovy, "Delux Diner" Deluxe, no hyphen needed in mandela bar, no glade marked, "Dispacio" should be Despacio but may not be there at all, "The Orchid" crew camping is "The Orchard" and finally "speling" should be "spelling"... or at least that's what my copy-check head pops up. Is it Butt's Bridge/Road or Butts Bridge/Road?

*grin* on the one hand you say don't worry about the mistakes, then painstakingly point out half of the other mistakes I never knew I had made :)

Thanks for the nice feed back frostypaw, I love doing maps and stuff in the lead up to the big weekend.

(edited for speling misstakes
