I think Royal Blood could potentially go the distance, don't see Catfish moving on to any bigger things, 2-3 year lifespan from here.

I think 30 Seconds To Mars have missed their chance now

I think its hard to tell on indie bands cause bands like The Kooks and The Fratellis were so big on the first album and then died on the second however bands do break through from that like Alt J and Vaccines so could go either way

Agree, it's probably not what I think it is but it looks like Jared is focusing more on acting at the moment. If he succeeds in nailing this Joke role in suicide squad and getting his name in the good books even more I can see the bands future dwindling.

I know he's been an actor for a while but it does feel like he's had a bit of a 'resurgence' in his career.

BMTH if the album go's down well have to be in for a shout and Royal Blood maybe another two albums down the line (if they can maintain interest that far which I think they are capable of).

Kendrick Lamar may be in for a shout eventually, one huge album or two more relatively successful ones with some hits and he'll be up their with some of the bigger acts in his genre imo.

Would of said Imagine Dragons after the arena tour was announced and after how well I saw them going down at some festivals last year, but although the album did quite well for a follow up in its sales it seemed to quickly go out of public attention and they haven't received much more exposure over here from what I can see. They might make the step up in America and be headlining all the big festivals over there, but I can see a possible sub spot in 2016 and then their popularity waning shortly after in the UK.

Oh and I'll be surprised if Slipknot are never booked as headliners, its arguable they are the biggest modern metal band and have a huge fanbase that doesn't look like its slowing down anytime soon.

About to make a dumb suggestion.. don't read what i've put in the spoiler tags if you get easily infuriated by posts or suggestions on the internet.

The 1975 to headline in 2016 or 2017? Just the hype and size of their fanbase at the moment, with a tour in November and a new album coming at the end of this year. Just seems that by August next year it could be mad to predict how big they are going to be... it could be a possibility

I think headlining might be a stretch but subbing's possible. Their November tour's pretty big but I imagine it'll sell out fairly quickly given their probably a bit bigger than most of those venues now. I can see them doing an arena tour next year actually.

Was the same last year and they subbed the NME. Think they'll sub or be third down at R&L or V next year. Actually if it's V I don't think they'd sub.

IIRC they got a bigger crowd than Disclosure.

I just feel they are a "Hit" away from blowing up Major. They are a very mainstream band and I think their new material may showcase how many casual and die hard fans they truly have.

Its an intimate tour on their wish, they could have probably done arenas and possibly sold a few of them out judging by the number of people who were upset by their twitter stunt when everyone assumed they'd broken up. But yeah assuming they'll be doing an arena tour too early next year as you say

They've said in the past they don't want to play arenas because they like intimacy at their gigs. I don't know whether them playing the Pyramid Stage wasn't them giving up on that tho.

Seems that way as in their statement they said they want to play 'HUGE shows', think they know they are going to eventually have to step up and start playing arenas after this tour

I would say that a lot of artists do but I still say they would be up for it and even if they did I don't think them playing on the Pyramid Stage is any indicator about as that is a one off at the main stage in the biggest festival in the country.

    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
    • Did you camp or go for a hotel? I looked into it briefly and seems easy enough to get back to Nuremberg.
    • Been last time in 2018 when the festival was happening in parque Bela vista. ls the new location good for such a big festival? What's the temperature in the evening near Tejo? Should we bring a raincoat or a jacket?
