I know it sucks right, there is literally only one stage at this Glastonbury thing, and you have to watch it all the time.. Someone should tell the Eavii to put on some more stages so there might be some alternative to watching Coldplay if you don't like them.  Otherwise they will end up with a load of people complaining about headliners and there being nothing else to watch.

The colonoscopy gag was funnier tbh

Saw about 10 mins of Kanye last year. That's about it as far as pyramid headliners were concerned. Got no interest in any of the rumoured 3 this year. If pushed then I would not mind watching a bit of Adele but unfortunately she's up against New Order.

No matter what though, I would rather be given free drugs and have a camera stuck up my arse than watch Coldplay.

The Guardian did a suggestion that Adele and Beyonce were the other two headliners to fit in with this female powered lineup this year.

Beyonce can't be ruled out I suppose given she's in the UK at the time... I would have said it was too soon but she last headlined the same year that Coldplay last headlined so I guess she can't be discounted completely.

My rule of thumb for headliners is if there isn't someone else I absolutely must see and they are someone I'm never going to buy a ticket for I'll go along and have a look because it is likely the only chance I'll get to form an opinion of them live .. Enjoyed Beyonce and Rolling Stones... Kanye opened well, then went horrible.

It isn't even as if Glastonbury has a thing where the headliners affect the people that come to the festival, everyone (pretty much) has already bought their ticket.

True. It would be nice to have some interest in one though.

There has always been some kudos attached to being Glastonbury headliner. It is a bit of a mockery when a band does it 4 times surely? Not even V fest who are continually mocked for having repeat performances are that bad.

The pyramid stage is the best place to watch a headliner for most people. That's why they are upset when one of the coveted slots has been taken by a band that are complete droppings.

With regard to the fact that there are so many more festivals, less superstars of music as people pass away and new acts aren't really able to push the same heights as easy.

I think it's appropriate that Coldplay are the first to headline the Pyramid four times, their live reputation was made on the Pyramid Stage, Coldplay and Glastonbury go hand in hand. It makes sense they are the first to reach four times.

Only really Arctic Monkeys out of the modern era will match that, I assume Radiohead and Muse if they return in the current run, they won't return anytime soon to match or beat such a record.

Sorry mate. If you don't laugh about it though it would just grind you down.

Im pretty sure The Killers have headlined V 4 times in the last 10 years, and Kings Of Leon can't be that far off either.

In 2011 Coldplay's effects were the best I've seen at the Pyramid, for those that go I'm sure they'll have a good time.  I'm hoping for a strong headliner elsewhere myself.

Those lights were, thankfully, viewable from lots of the site, and were left on all night. I remember seeing them after I'd watched chemical Brothers.

I have seen 2 of them performances as well. I do not mind a few Killers tunes but they were bland as hell.

V fest rightly get stick for it as it is just ridiculous. I could understand a band playing 4 times over a 30 year career, but to headline so many times in such a short space of time is pretty bad.

There are rumours Kings Of Leon are doing V again this year.

You missed very little. :P

I was a huge Cure fan in 1995.  That was the festival that started my lifelong obsession with the place - when all my mates came back glowing, telling me I really should have come along.  I did at the next opportunity, but it took a while before I got my suntan...

    • The Last Temptation - new Heaven 17 documentary film directed by James Strong. Premiered at Sheffield Docfest this weekend.    I really enjoyed it. Affectionate, insightful, and honest. A nice mix of archival and footage, interviews and clips from the last tour. Martyn and Glenn are like an old married couple.   Plus a snippet of news from the Q&A, Martyn is recording new BEF material, and Phil Oakey has collaborated on the one of tracks. The film shows them meeting in Fagans for the first time in over 35 years.
    • Glad I’ve still got it booked off for my 50th
    • That would be perfect!
    • If the festival was on this forecast for the end of the month would really raise the excitement levels 😊😉
    • I think their best chance is to get at Brazil. I though Casemiro in particular but the entire Brazil midfield was awful for the first half of that game, and if McTominay and McGinn press and run past them they've got every chance of getting the lead. You kinda assume Vini Jr and Raphinha will do something at some point in any game, but Brazil look like they're waiting for their stars to make something happen, instead of having a team plan.   I stand by my claim before the tourney that Morocco put 3 past Scotland, which suggests to me they need to nick a draw against Brazil.
