Devastated but Refund advice needed

In the ultimate bittersweet moment, I've just landed my dream job which I'm over the moon about. The flip side of this is that I need to be on paris from the 24th June hence Glastonbury is not going to happen. All those weeks on end waiting for the line up to drop was to no avail.

Therefore what's the deal with refunds. I know I have until the 8th May just a but paranoid I may not be entitled to it for whatever reason. I know I'll lose out on a fee etc but can somebody please explain the procedure of getting some cash back.

Cheers mate. Just bad timing really with new job but just not to be this year.

I didn't take insurance on ticket when paid balance but hopefully this doesn't mean I lies out completely.

Shouldn't affect anything. Ticket insurance is important past the deadline but not now. Let us know how you get on

Er...that's a poor excuse, tell them you have to tie things up with your present employment etc until the 29th. If they want you that much then they'll wait, if not then you get to go to Glasto and you'll still get your perfect job soon after, if you're good enough which it sounds like you are.

The insurance wouldn't have covered you for this anyway but you're fine (although not fine as you have to cancel )

We will not provide a refund where:

• you decide not to attend a booked event other than for a reason included within this Booking Refund Protection;

We will refund the cost of your booking if you are unable to attend the booked event due to:

• unexpected disruption of the public transport network you could not have reasonably known about before the date or time of the booked event;

• the death, accident, or illness happening to you, a member of your immediate family or any person(s) in the group due to attend the booked event with you;

• the mechanical breakdown, accident, fire or theft en route of a private vehicle taking you to the booked event;

• jury service which you were unaware of at the time of the booking;

• burglary or fire at your residence in the 48 hours immediately before the booked event requiring attendance of the emergency services;
• you being summoned to appear at court proceedings as a witness which you were unaware of at the time of booking;
• you being a member of the armed forces and being posted overseas unexpectedly;

• adverse weather including snow, frost, fog or storm where the Police service or other Government agency have issued warnings not to travel.

Er... It's not a poor excuse. I start new job on 18th May so not putting back 6 weeks a job I've worked very hard for all my career to get. I also put my family and future before glastonbury so whilst it mightn't be what you'd do it's not a poor excuse in my opinion.

It is harsh, Glastonbury will still be there for a few more years, but the dream job may be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Do whatever is best for you and your family, make sure you all agree. Hopefully you will not have any regrets.

Make sure next year at Glastonbury will be a huge party for you and your family/ friends.

Ok, I apologise, maybe it's not a poor excuse for you. I'm 45 years old, been to a million festivals and Glastonbury isn't one festival I'd miss for anything, except close relatives/friends funerals and even then I'd be on the road straight after the wake even if it was just for the Sunday. A job offer wouldn't mean I'd be looking for a refund, not now, not twenty years ago. It may be the last time ever you get the opportunity to actually go. If that doesn't bother you, then yes go for the job.

Sorry, just trying to keep the spirit alive from the hardcore oldschool!

20 years ago I'd have not even thought about it and done what you'd do, but I'm now at stage of life where if an opportunity as good as this one arises it's in myself and families best interests to take it.

Not saying it's the right thing to do for everybody , but certainly for me it is at this moment.

I love Glastonbury, it's a year long thing for me and I've been going for years, but it isn't the be all and end all.

Don't be 'Devastated' mate,would happily miss a Glasto for my dream job,especiallyafter working so hard for it , in fact they could keep the refund in my case.

Refund sorted this morning. Very easy and only lost £15.

Gutted to be missing out but need to look on bright side.
