How is your Glastonbury excitement?

Obvious question - as a newbie, how do you know the dreams are entirely accurate??

(The dilithium crystals I do not question)

Hence the italics, billum!

Such is my level of excitement/all-encompassing obsession, that I have convinced myself that I already have intimate familiarity with the site.

Which, clearly, is a load of old bollocks!

:)

I'm about to enter the horrible 'no money' stage of the build-up, so I have enough to take with me. That means May is going to be a real ball-ache and I'm not looking forward to it at all. I'm also in a slightly insecure job at the moment, so going to Glasto is actually a bit of a gamble for me because I'll need my work to continue until at least July/August to keep my head above water, but all things considered I should be fine, and plus, fuck it - it's Glastonbury. Has to be done.

Anyway. Tomorrow I pay for my flights and that will ramp up the excitement. I'm expecting to reach an 8 or 9 when I hit June.

Initial high after getting ticket in resale, calmed down a tad since. Am going to Iceland in a Week so that is taking a large chunk of my excitement, but as soon as i am back my entire focus will be Glasto (excited enough still to be logging into efest at work though)

I got it pretty bad. Normally away on holiday around now but this time round have got pretty much nothing planed between now an Glastonbury.

Already started building up a packing pile, counting down the days and spending far too much time looking at forums etc. Work is really starting to drag.

Peaks and troughs really one minute it's so close, then too far, then too much to do before hand, then I just can't bloody wait another minute!

The more i think about it my belly goes funny ( I am like a child at Christmas)

:girlhaha:

Excitement levels hit a peak on resale day & haven't really subsided yet. Going tent shopping at the weekend in a bid to lessen the load this time around from the old faithful but heavy regular tent, & have started a playlist.

Work productivity is already massively on the wane. Sorry boss.

Anyone else read this initially as "Glastonbury excrement" ?

No? just me? Ok then.

Beware the long drop!

I'm surrounded by kids dragging cricket kit bags around at the moment and on the right surface it sounds remarkably like trollies on the pathways.... Just need the sound of a long drop door slam and I'll be there

OMG, I'm at work and just got that sound in my head when I read it and got butterflies. Who knew a toilet door could give you such a buzz!! Lol

I'm quite excited but I do have a 3 big gigs and a work trip to Asia before I go to Glastonbury so don't really want to wish these away yet....

I think when the day splits come out and can roughly work out the clashes and who I can see, this will put the excitement levels but overall trying to remain calm about it lol

I am way more excited than I usually am. I think it's because I am more relaxed as a person now and I used to think something would inevitably stop me getting there. A bit of Glasto anxiety stopped the excitement until the very last minute but this time I am really up for it.

I started that this month, as I had to pay for the ticket, new tent and coach tickets, it's payday tomorrow and I have a small pile of pound coins on the coffee table and money on the meter, so it's all good. The amount I managed to save this month to pay for that makes me feel confident that by doing the same the next 2 paydays I should be able to afford a comfortable glastonbury where I get to come home with money in my pocket for a change :)

    • To be fair @Superscally barely mentions the running thing. Very quiet about it 😘
    • I guess we'll just have to wait until videos of the shows go up, but the fact that the standing is also greyed out still suggests to me that those sections just sold out out before the others and a blue block just be like 3 tickets left, it's still not concrete proof they never went on sale and if they were never on sale why would they not make it even, if 414 wasn't on sale then you'd think 409 wouldn't be either
    • Selfish, but I've done the 2 days I'm there.. i'll try to do the rest through the day but might get beaten to it as it's editable....    https://clashfinder.com/s/ape2026/
    • I don’t think the festival automatically ‘need’ to have a female headliner if you have strong female headliners on the Other Stage (which I reckon will be Rosalia and Phoebe Bridgers), perhaps a female legend (praying for Annie, will take Cher), and a few female/mix gendered subs on the Pyramid (maybe London Grammar, The xx). From what I’ve seen of Sabrina, her team prioritises the pay day and I think she will be doing Wembley over Glasto weekend.   One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of the suggestions would be first time headliners and I can’t work out when the last time was that the festival had three artists top the bill that hadn’t topped it before? It seems to be something they like to do to make sure they have a ‘safe’ headliner that will land well with the masses. Plenty of names in that hat that could step back up next summer and should/could be about: Billie Eilish, Adele, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Radiohead, U2…hell, if Beyoncé is really planning to release a ‘rock n roll’ album to complete her Renaissance trilogy, Glastonbury would be a great place to ‘kick off’ that campaign for her.   And there’s always the Rihanna rumour. Her husband (I think) said this week she’s in the studio.
    • And all (or all but one) of the secret sets repeats though?
