Hello knowledgeable efest folk...

Does anyone know anywhere wheresoever I could get pale ale or blonde beer in a can?? Bit of a long shot. Can't stand Carling, Fosters and that crap, but love pale ales and Belgian beers. Pretty impossible getting it in cans though. Much more of a bourbon man and other spirits!

You don't want this booze thread, you want this one: http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/topic/173763-decent-ales-etc-that-come-in-cans/. More and more pale ales coming in cans these days.

I got my beer today.

Bought 60 x Fosters and 20 x Strongbow at Asda. That came to £43.88. Buying as click and collect with Asda on Topcashback (If you are a new customer) you get £10.10 back if you spent over £50, so I also got some berrocca and tipped it over the edge with a few tubes of toothpaste.

Overall it cost me £40.30. Absolute bargain if you ask me.

my job is doing the online shopping at an asda, so please nobody else do this ;) those crates of beer are a nightmare!

haha the fella at asda tapped me on the shoulder today and said, "I was going to carry this outside for you, but I decided against it."

I'm surprised he didn't want to know about my beer/toothpaste combination tbh.

I have started the brewing of some Grapefruit and Lemon gin (grapefruit gets you more drunk, it's a fact) and some Apple and Cinnamon vodka, should be lovely and crisp by June

Ooh i never considered brewing any gin and gin is my favourite!

considering an amount to take to the fest... is this too much:

3L x red wine (box)

1L x Jameson

1L x Captain Morgan

8 x cider cans

8 x ale / lager cans

more / less? I'm always uncertain about these things!!!

You need more beer and cider unless you plan on buying some cold ones from the bar as you will want more than 3 cans when hungover before you hit the wine in my experience.

How are you brewing this? Are you infusing shop bought gin with mashed up grapefruit and lemons? Or have you got a still? Or something else? Sounds delicious either way and I want in!

Yes brewing was the wrong word, just infusing, as large tightly sealable jar, clean the skin of the fruit and cut it up, leave it for a few months

Apple and cinnamon, clean and core the apples, few cinnamon sticks, couple of spoons of brown sugar and fanny is your aunt

I do have a friend that did once try to brew his own vodka, it just tasted like turps and potato peelings and ended in a short stint on some strong antibiotics, never again!! Stick to the infusing

like the sound of this grapefruit & lemon gin, how many do you cut up to put in a 75cl bottle of gin then?

I used 3 lemons and a grapefruit, it's plentiful and relatively strong in taste

This is the first time I've used grapefruit to give it that added kick, I don't imagine it'll make it any worse anyway

Special offers on Morgan's spiced is the jackpot. Whenever I see it on offer I stockpile that stuff.
