Morning all,

Long time member but mostly lurker here!

Under 48 hours to go and I'm getting very nervous - failed in the general sale for the first time ever (been to every Glasto since 2005) and never got past the holding page yesterday. Beginning to think it's just not my year, but utterly devastated at the prospect of not being there!!!

I'll be online at 9am manically trying the laptop and the iphone, but If any of you kind folk would be willing to try and help me out it would be so so appreciated:

The o2. Such a perfect place to set off from when heading for the South West.....

I live near the O2 and it's not as bad as you think - really quick and easy to get to the M25 from there. Better than crawling through traffic trying to get out of Central London from Victoria or Embankment. Plus the huge car park SHOULD make it easier to organise the amount of caoches coming and going.

Well what an evening of an emotional rollercoaster.

Had spent the day checking links, rounding up friends, swapping our postcodes, discussing incognito windows and US VPN's and with work starting at 7 the day quickly ran into a frenzied panic as 6pm approached.

We mostly used the links posted here and some used the front door from various locations throughout Ireland and the UK and Australia. I used a single incognito google tab on my laptop and a google tab on my phone on 4g but nothing more than the holding page appeared.

One of my friends called me at 6.15 for my card details and just as my despair was setting in - bang - the payment went through. Sheer elation - Bath 10am Wednesday Morning - he had already got 2 for my other friends from Bristol on Thursday.

Off to work happy and now that I'm home have just used the Trainline to get a ticket to Bath on the Tuesday night and Booking.com to get a cheap hotel room, Its a new venture this year as my last 3 Glasto's were done by car from Central Ireland. I boked a return flight to Birmingham from Dublin last November never fully expecting to ever use it but it has come in handy now as I got it very cheap at the time.

So please do not despair, I never ever expected to be going this year and tonight I'm just unbelievably grateful to my friend and feel so privileged. I will try to help on Sunday morning if anyone needs help feel free to PM me Reg Numbers Postcodes & Telephone numbers.

Yep please don't despair...EVERYONE is going to get through.....oh... :fie:

Took my mate hours to get across London two years ago. Arrived four hours late (bus turned up late for half of that delay though!)

another question for those who got through last night, did you need your secure card password or did just the number/expiry/number on back suffice?

I didn't join the sale (nor any resales), but I've never been asked for any online security password for previous main sales, when I've used my Visa debit card, it's just gone through.

i think im already annoying people in work talking about it. Of the ticketless lot, what are you doing tomorrow to keep your mind off it? I'm going to everton so a few lunchtime beers and lunch with my dad (while likely repeating my explanation of what he has to do sunday morning when he's helping us over and over again!) followed by an utterly turgid game of football as they all have been this season

If Turgid football is your bag, youd be welcome to come to Ewood Park with me tomorrow - I cant even give away a spare season ticket!!!

I can help Sunday if anyone wants to Pm me their details I will try in order of receiving them (assuming I get through at all).

EDIT: Loads of PM's received, no point sending me more I'll never get through them. I'll do my best to those I have replied too.

My mate got his girlfriend a ticket but accidentally clicked the child 13-15 option. This is after getting everybody in our group a ticket in the original sale (inc. people he doesn't really know) but forgetting his girlfriends!

The child ticket was the same price as the adult and I have found a thread from last year where the same thing happened to a few people and all of them seemed to resolve it by calling See tickets and getting them swapped. He seems remarkably laid back about the situation but I have told him to call See asap!

Definitely agree with this - think there were about 15 coaches setting off every hour last year which wouldn't be possible in Victoria or central London. Last year was a breeze getting out on to the motorway - plus plenty of places to get some brekkie before the coach!

* although i am probably biased coming in from east London!

I got tickets from Reading this year in the resale (I haven't been in 3 years but was there for the previous 9) as that was all that was available for me. Anyone know where the reading pick up point is?

Lucky for me I live SW London and train to reading is direct form the station by my house and will take jsut as much time for me to get there (if not quicker) than going to Greenwich

    • No worries, it's a perfectly fair question to ask. I would expect people to be talking at the back & near the bars & that is where I would want them to be talking. If your group are enjoying yourselves & the music & briefly chatting to say how much you are loving a certain song etc, you would be an ideal group to stand behind.   My issue is with people having full blown conversations (usually unrelated what is on the stage) whilst being surrounded by people who are trying to listen to the music. This was happening in the middle and towards the front of all stages, & so you have limited options to move around & you may have spent 20 minutes waiting for the band trying to get the closest position that you can. If there's a group of 8 people, there may be 2 or 3 that like the band & the rest will start talking if the music isn't their thing. This may be the norm now for festivals, and if it is, that's ok & I will focus on a band's own gigs & UK based new music festivals.    I'm also not including consequences of my own decision making. I saw Geese on Wednesday so went to Occident after Men I Trust finished so it was understandable there would be chatting that far back. Similarly, getting to The XX after Olivia Rodrigo along with most of the site, I knew my chance of a good spot & a chat-free zone had gone so that was completely reasonable.   PS. I went to Bilbao BBK in 2023 & 2025 & enjoyed it. For Pulp & Kylie in 2025, I got a position early & was surrounded by a respectful & fun crowd for both. The UK non-headlining bands tend to go on the undercover 3rd stage, & most people like to congregate outside so you can usually get close to the front of that stage.
    • Interview on 6 music earlier, was going to get the album to have a listen, but comes out the day they play the festival
    • Additional dates added already
    • I feel like it's not COMPLETELY beyond the realm of possibility that they could headline but I just don't see it.    They're not doing anything other than headlining. So nah, I don't see it.
    • Consider that the sound quality can be better near the front bars right behind the soundbooth rather than closer to the stage, like with mbv. And of course, the front sections are full of talkers too.   The most courteous move would be to have conversations in the very back of the field.
