Let me rephrase. They definitely AREN'T headlining. I told you they weren't so you'd move on to discussing people that could potentially be headlining but the argument carried on anyway.

What are you trying to rephrase?, there is no potential debate lol, there isn't 6 bands lining up for a spot lol.

Would not be surprised.

You should be, only been interested in about 3 acts in that tent ever in 7 years.

You seemed to think I said Bmth and biffy weren't headlining as a wind up or something. So I rephrased my comment to make it clear that neither of them are headlining so the conversation could move away from them as it's pointless.

The only reason I said Bmth and Biffy aren't headlining is so you'd stop arguing about them/discussing them in the thread. Aah well.

not hard to see why he came to that conclusion. but if Biffy and BMTH are both out of the equation, i haven't a clue who the third headliner could be - but i'm sticking with Sabbath and SOAD for the first two

I get it wasn't a wind up but saying that wasn't going to stop it. There is a lot more than just me on here speculating, many of which don't find the idea of BMTH heading pointless and I'm fairly sure you don't have that proof?, I'd just hope they could get better but I'm yet to hear who you think it'll be instead?

Bmth heading isn't pointless, download should consider them for a headline spot,it's only pointless in relation to 2016 as it's not happening next year.

HE JUST SAID BMTH DEFINITELY AREN'T HEADLINING. How many times!? Jesus.

Sorry

You say that like I've said they are, it's you lot that have continuously predicted them in lineups all the time and going on about them heading, I think you'll find it's me that's done the opposite.

So what you've actually said is what I said all the way along from the start that BMTH wouldn't be headlining next year, although I actually said they shouldn't as well and stand by that based on next year. All I said was you hadn't shown any proof of knowing for certain but if you do have that/have been made aware of that then fair play. I've only said BMTH earlier today IF SOAD weren't available.

Well with what Lightning's said, and what Lucky's said about Tool, I can't see past SOAD, Maiden and Sabbath for now, unless someone comes out of the blue.

So also what I've been saying and know I'm not saying it's only me, it's originally me or anything. Just putting the point across. if it's not SOAD then it's Metallica but considering 2012 I doubt it is.

I don't think Andy will get Tool in 2017 either. That's provided he can pull it off, BMTH, Metallica and GNR, obviously IMO, atm :P

Iron Maiden

Deftones

Royal Blood

Slayer

All Time Low

System Of A Down

???

Disturbed

Alexisonfire

Alice Cooper

Black Sabbath

Bullet For My Valentine

Stone Sour

The Darkness

Limp Bizkit

I can't think of a sub for SOAD. When I thought BMTH would be headlining I had You Me At Six subbing, but I can't see them fitting under SOAD, or Maiden if you moved Deftones under SOAD. Could KoRn still be considered big enough to sub?

Now you finally change your predictions from BMTH headlining! ;P. Korn haven't been big enough to sub for ages and if RB can do 3rd off of one album at R&L, I'm not so sure they will still be 3rd with two albums. If Deftones can sub then so can RB with another album.

Biffy playing an NYE show, so they are definitely back for next year

If lightning is right on BMTH then my mind is on Biffy Clyro, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath

Call me out by all means if it's wrong but I really think you'd be best changing Biffy Clyro to SOAD.

At this point I'm going to be quite surprised if they aren't a Glastonbury headliner and I've a feeling it'll be an Arctics/AF situation where it's their only festival show here of the year with a couple of dates before hand.

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
