I don't think anybody ever suggested that Mastodon sub headline the Main Stage at Reading and Leeds.

They didn't, but nor did I. I mentioned fest slots and main stage, it happens to be in a R&L forum is all.

I meant to put their prime fest but just edited it out as the 1st bit in the main point.

Glasto: Foo fighters, Ed sheeran, Fleetwood mac

R&L: Red hot chili peppers, The prodigy, Florence and the machine

DL: Black sabbath, Green day, System of a down

V: Rihanna, Mumford and sons

TITP: Muse, Blur, Chase and status/The black keys

IOW: Gorillaz, Muse, Ed sheeran

Soni: Kiss, Biffy clyro, Tool

Gorillaz doing a fest a month before Blur do a fest? Also you'd need another fest for Blur, T don't do Exclusive bookings. Ed won't be around next year. Biffy will probably get offers from Download and Glasto, Soni will be bottom of their list I'd imagine even though I think they'd go down much better at Soni than at Download. I think most will predict two out of them 3 at Download to be honest (wouldn't imagine SOAD would close though). T will without a doubt have Flo in their lineup. Replace Ed at Glasto with Biffy and I think it's as spot as as possible, I don't believe the whole they won't have Biffy and Foo's in the same year, normally I'd agree but they weren't planning on Foo's pulling out and I'd bet there had been at least an offer to Biffy by then.

Emboldened what I think will happen, along with the 2 I think would be likely to do Soni if it were to return

Glasto: Foos, Fleetwood Mac, Biffy.

R&L: Slipknot, Florence, Foos.

DL: SOAD, Tool, Black Sabbath.

V: The Killers, Mumford and Sons

T: Mumford and Sons, Ed Sheeran, Foos.

IOW: The Libertines, Green Day, Muse.

The Libs is a funny one, normally I'd say not 3 years running but they may well do more than just R&L/Glasto to promote the album. I count Glasto as it still included two songs.

I don't think Download will get Tool. I think based on that, IOW would be The Libertines, FATM, Muse. V will have a more poppy act so only one of The Killers or M&S. Glasto agreed.

R&L: Foo's, Blur and a new comer, T: Flo, Blur and take your pick with Calvin last on Saturday. Still think Foo's will do Murrayfield, doing T will mean people have to buy a ticket in Scotland to see them where originally they may not have wanted to.

    • Disclosure Day was fun.  It's very Spielberg but probably not an all time classic Spielberg. Nothing particularly original but it's well made, good performances (exceptional performance by Emily Blunt) and for a 2 hour plus blockbuster it flew by. Not everything worked, but I don't want to say why to avoid spoiling. Then again, it's not like there are too many shocks in this film.
    • Do these early birds tickets sell out fast, or is it ok to wait for the w-e ?
