Bisque
Modestep would be great warm up for the headliners.
the wonderwhy
Probably end up being Fatboy Slim
kaytee...
I was hoping it would be Hot Chip, didn't realise they were playing elsewhere Don't think Chuckle Brothers are listed anywhere on the lineup what if it's just them Still confused about the Muse thing. They've literally got nothing else booked, even doing a Radio 1 live lounge thing on Friday. Not a fan of their new stuff but it would have been an excellent booking. jonodillieono
Chuckle brothers are big top I think the Muse thing is due to them being Download exclusives or some shit I don't know
hoils
I reckon it's likely to be someone that's doing Lollapalooza on the Sunday and that isn't playing anywhere else on Saturday (and that fits with the Bestival booking policy). Which by my reckoning leaves us with RTJ and Clean Bandit. Or Muse, and there's been lots of deliberate misinformation being bandied about. FloorFiller
as incredible as RTJ would be, they don't strike me as an act Bestival would book as a 'very special guest' (even if this very special guest seemingly isn't their first option so they can't be too picky) that said, please let it be RTJ and not Rudimental/Clean Bandit/something awful
smogo
Of course, the fact that the advertising changed from "very special guests" to "very special guest" suggests a solo act. Kylie...? Edited September 6, 2015 by smogo
FloorFiller
hm well at least that rules out Rudimental and the like a big pop act would be just great for me, but then of course it could end up being somebody like Jamie T, who would be alright, but just not very exciting edit: wait, where does it say 'very special GUEST' instead of 'guestS'? because it still says 'guests' on the lineup page Edited September 6, 2015 by FloorFiller
smogo
Oh does it? It changed in the print adverts at some point.
JustJoe1990
Rudimental are in Bulgaria on the Saturday so probably won't be them. I'm going with a random shout for the 'very special guests'; Years & Years. Edited September 6, 2015 by JustJoe1990
FloorFiller
Rudimental are in Bulgaria on the Saturday so probably won't be them. I'm going with a random shout for the 'very special guests'; Years & Years. doesn't really seem very special considering they've been on every festival bill except Bestival this year
the wonderwhy
Yeah I saw a poster at Fratton station after the football and it definitely said guest. Been guests on the website for ages though so fuck knows which one is right.
FloorFiller
gonna be intense as fuck standing at that main stage waiting to see who it is if nothing leaks beforehand. were people aware of The Kooks and the like last year? (or The Specials and others in previous years?)
smogo
Lethal Bizzle and the Kooks were announced on the info boards earlier in the day. I wasn't there in 2008 but I seem to remember my mate saying the Specials were a total surprise.
FloorFiller
whilst it'd be nice to know who's playing beforehand as to avoid clashes etc, would be pretty great for it to a total surprise until the banner on the stage is dropped/the act walks out
Bisque
Think it could be the Libertines now. Would be massive for RDB/Bestival
smogo
I'd be surprised if Rob was interested in booking the Libertines.
FloorFiller
would also seem a bit second fiddle to Glastonbury - The Libertines can't be the special guests at EVERY festival
Bisque
Was thinking "special guest" for Libs due to some R&L contract clause.
FloorFiller
i hope that Muse seemingly pulling out doesn't mean they've had to settle with somebody significantly weaker/smaller due to having far less time to sort it out - going from having an act bigger than any of the headliners to somebody like Clean Bandit would be rather shite. tbh i don't even mind if it's somebody not that huge - just not somebody achingly predictable/boring
Zacko
Matt Bellamy on stage, solo, reading out conspiracy theories

drakeyyy
My money's on George Clinton/Parliament/Funkadelic. Have been touring this summer and he would be a VERY special guest.

Bisque
Genuinely going to be exciting to see this. I hope they now don't give it away before whoever it is steps out on stage, even on the digital festival info screens.
