The new Torres album is streaming, for anyone interested:

http://www.npr.org/2015/04/26/401257074/first-listen-torres-sprinter?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=nprmusic&utm_term=music&utm_content=20150426

I've only given it a once over but I'd say that overall it's an improvement on the rather excellent debut.

Big claim! Will give it a listen tomorrow. Cheers :)

new Titus Andronicus out in July

album is 29 songs long. i can't wait. The Monitor is one of my favourites from recent years

Yeah man. There's no better way to re-emerge from the wilderness than with a 29 track concept album. I'm not sure on the song as, while it's fine, Stickles' vocals are being really drowned out but the album's great news nonetheless so I'm excited.

Had no idea that Palma Violets had a new album out. Their debut was alright for a few weeks but I've not listened to it since. Is this new album any good?

Had a listen, not particularly anything new, their debut was probably better. The singer sounds a bit funny too.

JME's new album on the other hand, can't stop listening to it. He's knocked it out of the park with Integrity>.

  • 2 weeks later...

There was quite a bit of fawning over it on here when it first came out, I've been listening to it loads, easily one of my favourites from what's been a really strong year so far. She's playing Latitude, I don't think Glastonbury is out of the question at all, she's doing Roskilde as well. Currently Latitude, and an October show in thatLondon are her only two upcoming UK dates, I'm hoping she adds some more in, ideally in the form of a Manchester Cathedral show when she's back over in October.

Massively disappointed with the new Vaccines album. The last one was great, but this one is pretty poor. Dream Lover is the most execrable song I've heard in a long long time. Still think Handsome is a cracking single though. But really, overall a huge let down of an album.

Can I just say how incredible Sol Invictus is. First Faith No More album in 18 years and all I can say is that they have not lost it at all. So many bands are releasing poor quality music at the moment after lengthy spells of not going into the studio.

Mike Patton and Co are just about as genius as they ever were.

There's a bit in the new Q about Foals new album, says the album's done and it should be out this Autumn which is good as I was starting thinking early next year might be more likely. Looking forward to seeing where they go from Holy Fire which I think is their best album, though others might disagree.

Good news, hopefully that'll be coupled with a few small shows later in the year :D

I loved Holy Fire but out of the 3 I'd say it's the one I find myself going back to least for some reason

The new Summer Camp is up for streaming, I enjoyed it a lot more than I'd thought I would, it's not as good as Welcome To Condale (which is one of the best albums of the last few years) but it's a much more consistent album than their S/T overall, although that record did have a couple of massive belters, which this one doesn't quite reach.

Hot Chip album sounding very good on first listen as well.

    • Absolutely not, I dont know of it selling out but they needed TFG and Skyvip to shift them. Biffy aren't either and they didn't go to TFG and I wouldn't say Kasabian are either and they sold it out the quickest. Liam Gallagher did Finsbury Park as well and subbed the Pyramid Stage, Noah Kahan did two nights at BST and subbed the Pyramid though that's a rare one. Finsbury itself will definitely not grant you top spot, that field can hold 100k      That's fair. I'm definitely in the camp myself that Fender and Harry are most likely.

    • I don't think he will announce restarting north sea drilling.    He'll hint at it instead and kick it down the road.   And the plan isn't for new licenses anyway.
    • LCD Soundsystem seem perfect for the outdoor circuit. I could definitely see them doing that.
    • Thats a weekly one isn't it? He's been PM for two weeks and its been known longer than that. Labour , greens , lib dem's all seemed to be converging around 16/17% beforehand are now labour are breaking away.   The polls showing labour ahead have the lib dems down at something like 8%. I guessing as Burnham announces more blue labour policies like restarting north sea drilling those two parties will start to claw back a few of the voters they've lost.
