Used to think it was amazing, loud, extreme, unique etc. Just seems to be a bit same old now though. The introduction of its new field and the new sound system has buggered it for me.

Maybe doing the new show in Bristol is the way forward for them.

they've confirmed they will be at glastonbury with a new show - I'm wondering if the spider will be returning from Bangkok or if they'll have something new

Yeah I think they need something new and fresh. The spider has run it's course in my opinion.

Agreed...the whole set up in 2010 and 2011 won't be beaten. It was loud, mind blowing, the spider was different, the rig was awesome.

It needs totally over hauling

Thought similar in the Boomtown thread that it could be nearing the end.

I do like it, its a really cool concept still but I think the last couple of years, at Glastonbury at least its been let down by being popular with people who are happy to stand and watch some Flames go up every few minutes with no music

If they do leave the spider, hopefully any setup isn't as popular so it can be enjoy properly. The Bristol thing could be fun, as I'd imagine it wouldn't be over capacity so to speak!

I like it for the simple fact it removes large portions of people from the beat hotel/shangri-la area. I'm completely happy for people to watch Fatboy Slim and Disclosure on a giant flaming spider while I lose my mind to John Talabot elsewhere.

The arcadia crew dont do half measures, whatever replaces the spider is sure to be bigger and flashier and therefore really popular

On their facebook, they said next year, they are just doing Glastonbury and some sort of show in Bristol as far as the UK goes.

I thought it was a bit weird that you had the main spider with the soundsystem, but the lightning show was off to the side, almost as an afterthought. Other than that, I enjoyed it. Craig Charles was excellent!

I liked it when it was in the south east corner , but since it has moved to its new locations last year and the year before by the other stage it seems to have lost its edge , cant put my finger on it maybe its the sound , maybe im just getting older and less appreciative .

Arcadia is absolutely fantastic. Stunning, mind blowing excellent entertainment. Ground breaking and genuinely unique.

But when you have seen it several times it really does lose its wow factor. They either need to change their rig or take it to new audiences.
