Any idea what's behind it Neil? I didn't realise there were any tensions.

I'm not aware of any tensions, tho they probably exist.

If Ludford has gone, then I'm guessing that's because Eavis feels that the licencee job can now be brought back 'in house'. I'm pretty sure that Michael didn't want it done by 'outsiders' at any point, but that became the only realistic option.

If it has been brought back in house, then I'm guessing that Nick (Emily's hubby) might have taken it on.

I'd guess that Dick Tee's departure is a part of the same change-around in personnel.

But I can only make guesses at this point. It's quite possible that there's other staff I'm not aware of that are able to take over the licencee role.

Could this possibly be the beginning of Emily and Nick taking more control of the Festival and business. Maybe creating their own companies if they are not already set up.

Considering all the new buildings and offices that got built last year on the festival/farm site

Yep, it could be about Emily and Nick having a greater personal involvement.

I'm not sure they'll need to use their own companies for it tho.

for the last 10 years at least, lots of lovely new buildings and facilities for the farm is the norm. It appears to be the case that Michael spends the festival's fee to the farm on the farm.

Can't imagine you can put on an event like that every year without some (or loads) of argie-bargie behind the scenes. In fact I bet it's anything other than 'peace and love' at times.

Best not to look behind the veil :)

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
