I said if he was only doing a UK tour then jacking it in for good. Would people not travel from around the world to see that?

Fair point well made but with relation to Take That that was a UK stadium tour for genera ply UK people.

If Bowie announced JUST 6 stadiums around Britain and that was it?Yeah demand may dictate from world wide it would sell out.But a stadium UK tour as part of a bigger tour no.

On a note now seemingly unrelated to this thread, what are people's estimates on how difficult it will be to get a NG ticket on friday? On a scale from 1 to glastonbury.

Managed to bag some tickets for Manchester in the pre-sale. Wanted six but could only get 4/transaction. Clicked back to order more and they had sold out at 3 minutes past 9! Not sure how many were sold today, but I would imagine a similar scramble for tickets on Friday.

Though if demand is high, I can see additional dates being added, maybe in Dublin/London.

Anyone know if the european dates go on sale the same time as the UK tour? Fancy a few days in europe to watch him

Yes. Adjusted for time zones I guess. Worth checking the vendor you'd be buying off.

As with most gigs, if you're willing to be seated you should be alright. Getting standing may be quite hard though.

No space for added dates, and he goes to Europe straight after (Paris on the 12th) - there is zero chance he will do five days in a row. What you've got, you've got.

Noel never performs more than two consecutive nights as HFB to protect his voice.

Bowie would sell boat loads, he'd sell at the very least Oasis levels in the UK maybe even Take That.

Of course that depends entirely on ticket price to, so he might rather make a killing on a few rarer shows given his reported heart condition doing just a few dates at an extortionate price. (If he was to tour again :P).

I'd imagine in theory, it would fall somewhere near to Roger Waters doing the Wall World wide (though that was across 3 years) or One Direction using this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_concert_tours#Highest-grossing_tours_of_all_time)

The final Oasis tour of outdoor summer concerts consisted of.

3 nights Heaton Park - Manchester

Stadium Of Light - Sunderland

Millenium Stadium - Cardiff

Murrayfield - Edinburugh

Slane Castle - Ireland

Ricoh Arena - Coventry

3 nights Wembley - London

Would Bowie be able to match something like that? I am a bit sceptical. Considering his 1990 tour was supposed to be his greatest hits tour, he never sold the tickets for that which Oasis did on their tour.

He might well sell out the football stadiums, but there is not a cat in hells chance he sells out 3 nights at Heaton Park. I cant comment on Wembley as I do not know what kind of following he has down there.

Considering the Victoria & Albert Museum had the biggest exhibition run in its history for people to see just Bowie's clothing and memorabilia i'm guessing a tour would be far more popular now than anything he did 20 odd years ago!
