Morning all reporting in for first full day of NFR NFC duties, quite a bit of w*t stuff falling in Liverpool today whilst on the school run but apparently going to be sunny for the rest of the day whilst I am in work. Have a good day everyone.

P.S CG - happy with Dorothy if it's easier, my screen name was chosen as it is my middle name (but I also love The Wizard of Oz) Hated it when I was younger but quite like it now!

I watched that movie about a million times as a kid, loved it!

Hello!!

Yeah I could do with it being Friday!!

Ooh, I bought new wellies last night, and a bum bag, and a potential day bag but I'm not sure about it. Did a bit of festival chattering with a friend too last night, we are going to Common People and it is his first festival!

Morning Dr Ben x

Morning, CG...though you had better be tucked up in bed by now, young lady...

I'm fortunate to be SO important that I don't do proper night shifts anymore - now I work often 'til 2300-2400h and am then on-call, so can be called back in at stupid o'clock.

When I did do them, the actual shifts were fine (unless they were too quiet - man, a quiet nightshift is a laborious thing...), but I was miserable as sin in the week leading up to the week of nights themselves.

Oh, and I can only ever associate night shifts with Oasis' 'Don't Look Back In Anger'. I was in the neonatal unit at St George's in Tooting 100 years ago as a junior doc, and Capital FM had a night-time playlist of (seriously) about 6-7 songs. With the the radio on quietly all night every night, imagine how many times I heard that during a week of nights when it was charting. I feckin' hate that song...

Happy days!

:)

Ben

Just got given tickets to see AC/DC courtesy of work woooooo :)

Always been a fan but never seen 'em live - anyone seen them recently?

Not for ages. It'll be bloody fantastic though.

I have my ticket :)

Great news, slodge!

I'm a bit jealous of you non-coachers, as I'll only get mine on board on the 24th. but then I'll see it first whilst actually en route to the festival, so swings and roundabouts.

I got an email saying that they are emailing out the e-tickets for coachers this week, so I will update you NFR-ers when that lands!

Been in the same position in previous years Benjamino

Only feels real once you have your ticket in your hand, only to realise you're about 10 mins from the festival! Travelling on the coach is great all the same :)

Oh, I've travelled on the coach to quite a few festivals and I love it. You can feel the excitment and anticipation in others, hear them get steadily louder and more animated as the journey goes on, then a minor explosion as we all first see the site.

*sighs*

It's better to travel, eh?

And, coming in at gate A puts me on a beeline trajectory (as much as GF will allow) straight down to where I hope to camp!

In previous years we've gone from Dublin to London, stayed with some family on Tuesday night and get the earliest coach possible to the fest and hoped to be set up in camp and free to roam around by midday on Wednesday!

I don't care how long it takes once we get there eh? :)

Oh absolutely - I'd set off a day before, happily, in order to get there as early as I could! I was lucky that See Coaches liked a cheeky email of mine so much that my coach allocation is Coach 1, Seat 1 :)!!!

Should be in and set up by 10-10.30am on Wednesday, I hope, with the whole of that first day to explore entirely pressure-free, gradually watching the festival fill up in fromt of me. Then singularly failing to find my tent again after 20 000 are added around it!

Love your excitement Ben - but I have to say that Glastonbury is one place where the arriving is much much much better than the travelling, your first view of the site, that first beer when you have set up - marvellous

We're staying in the same b and b that we have for the last two years about 10 minutes drive away from West car parks.

Aim to be out after an early breakfast (and last shower) by 8.00 and, fingers crossed, parked up by 8.15.

But, I bet we're not set up before 11.
