Mr G, we all here for you! Hope all will be ok Hun.

Don't ever think of not posting your troubles/hardships just In case it brings us down. We may feel sad for you but sometimes advice or just plain old 'chin up we're thinking of you' helps you. It helped me in the past. So... Chin-up pet, thinking of you x

Hope today is better for you mr g

Thanks, guys, just felt a bit fed up last night. Gumby jr. was pretty difficult yesterday, telling me he didn't like anything I did, which can get fairly disheartening after several hours. Added to that, the road we live on is being resurfaced this week. Last night they were grinding off the old surface layer, which kept waking him up after he'd gone to bed. They finally stopped just before midnight. So, not exactly a relaxing evening!

Anyway, I have decided today will be better! I put together the trolley we'll be using for the little 'un at glasto yesterday (one of the things he stropped about), and I will get him to be happy about it if it's the last thing I do!

Morning everybody

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement last night. We did OK with the little buggars.

Mr G, here's hoping G Jnr is slightly more compliant today! thurlow, hope thurlow Snr is on better form today.

Bit of w*t stuff forecast today, but should be smashing tomorrow, which is good, as I'm off to visit my Mum before her birthday on Thursday.

Child 3 getting braces on today, and then has Parent Consultation at school (not Parents' Evening anymore, no siree...). I wonder if he'll be too sore to blow his trumpet at his Jazz Orchestra tonight?!

Have a brilliant day all, whatever you're up to.

:)

Ben

Good luck. Let us know how it goes! I was so nervous my leg was continuously shaking. My instructor changed his car from diesel to petrol on the day of the test. The examiner let me off with 4 stalls because of this... And of course my expertise in coping with said stalls.

Morning peoples and peoples.

Dry, cl0%dy, sunny and windy, I think best sums up Yorkshire's Finest Weather today.

I feel as rough as badgers though (where does that phrase come from?).

Would have been working from home all day, but got to go in in a bit for a meeting that I need to happen. The worst kind as you can't get out of it.

Hope everyone else has a scintillating day.

An accurate description, although its improved a bit in the last year or so.

We've got friends in Nuneaton, who we try to visit regularly. We haven't been to Coventry for a good few years, but last time we did it struck me as a pretty awful place (and I've had nights out in Croydon, Wolverhampton, and Merthyr Tidfil, so that's saying something!). I expect it's much nicer during the day!

Haha i will do if i pass!

I think i will have a case of quivery leg too. Feeling optimistic though...going to put off the additional test for the motorway though so the other half still has to do the glastonbury drive, while i have a can on the way

OK...so I've just about confirmed the swap that gets me out of the Fri-Sun on duty for GF2016!

Just the small matter of now swapping out a day shift on the Thursday and...I would be in a position to try for a ticket with impunity!

This is utter madness. I'm still a month and a half from a festival I've never even been to, and already creating a bit of a nightmare working pattern to facilitate the possibility of being able to go to it the year after!!!

Ha! Now just the small matter of potentially selling a second Glastonbury in a row to Mrs Ben! She's used to me buggering off for a festival a year, but there's just something about the extended length of Glastonbury that makes me feel a little bit more guilty with self-indulgence!

She went in 2004 - I sorted a ticket for her and friend in a frantic secret resale, after a miserable experience all night on dial-up internet and the shittiest computer known to man! But she only went Friday to Sunday night (she had to come home as I had work the next day!) and will now regularly take the piss, constantly reminding me how it's OK for me to be away for essentially six days, where as she only got to go for two and a half! She's now reached a point where 4-5 days in the mud and stuff doesn't really float her boat so much. Hmmm, maybe we should think about persuading her to come with me next year...!

It's the way you sell it, and as a frontline NHS blagger, I coud sell ice to the eskimos, as say...:)
