^^this^^ Does this not happen in the real world? or do we not have time to notice. Do we not have time/inclination to do good things in the real world?

You are quite right Dee - it does happen in the real world too but sadly gets overshadowed by all the carp and negativity the press revel in.

Given the news of this morning (inc our seat where the one who wants to sell the forest to the highest bidder has won) I shall now make it my aim not just in the next 5 years but for the rest of my life, to do as much good as I can.

“The anti-values of greed, individualism and exclusion should be replaced by solidarity, common good and inclusion. The objective of our economic and social activity should not be the limitless, endless, mindless accumulation of wealth in a profit-centred economy but rather a people-centred economy that guarantees human needs, human rights, and human security, as well as conserves life on earth. These should be universal values that underpin our ethical and moral responsibility.”

Miguel D’Escoto Brockmann, the President of the United Nations General Assembly speaking in 2009

Morning all

Annoyed that Spoon Face the Dolphin Boy has got in again. Please keep our NHS! I probably need surgery in the not too distant future, and really, the NHS is bloody marvelous!!

Grey and w** here this morning, outside and in our heads. Boo.

Still, it is friday, I'm out for dinner for my Dad's birthday tonight, and I'm not dead.

Sounds silly but you know!

46 days folks, 46 days!

Today is another day, it has started badly (very) but what has gone has gone.

I feel very dispondent but must rise above it and get on - we have a fight to fight here in the Forest of Dean and it starts now.

As LucyG says - 46 days (happy birthday to your Dad)

Love and Peace

Thanks Matt, I will pass on the happy birthday!

I agree, onwards and upwards as best we can. And lets try not to get too cabbagey in here!! Lets have this as an escape, shall we?

I think I might take myself out to look at bluebells tomorrow. There are some in the woods by my house but I would like to see a carpet of them!

Yes this certainly does happen just not enough, specially in a city as big as Liverpool! :growl:

Just wish everyone had the same lovely spirit as people do in this forum and in places like GF.

Best wishes to your Dad Lucy,

You are welcome to come and visit this time (ish) next year when we should hopefully have a carpet of bluebells for you to see.

Unless the blue cabbages have sold the fecking forest off.

Last night our puss cats conspired against us...................

Our thyroid boy had a bad coughing episode(due to swollen thyroid) and needed love at 2am

His sister then was delighted when she caught her first mouse in 4 years and kept bringing it back in to show us at 3am

Poorly boy was then sick, due to thyroid, at 4.30am

They are now both fast asleep after a heart breakfast.

Me and Mrs Mattyc are rather tired.

I am now off to do something energetic.

Morning.

Cabbages cabbages.

Hey ho, we can't do anything about it now,

Off in new bus this weekend, going to Crossways near Dorchester, going to stay in the forest (may just stay there for ever) no internet and poor TV so away from the real world and cabbages.

Hugs to everyone

Mice at silly o clock are a regular occurence in our house!! The other night the cat brought one in, I couldnt catch it, the cat gave up and went out, so I went back to bed. Then I dreamt I caught it, kept it as a pet and called it Janet!!! Still no sign of it in real life so am assuming the cat took it out again.....

Slodge, have a lovely weekend :)

    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.

    • MGK would probably end my interest in this festival completely.
    • The basement, deafheaven, Mannequin pussy clash is v annoying. Also not sure why pinkpantheress is in the tent, surely going to be ramos.
    • It's just this:   Search up which orgs are currently in Tufton St, funded by Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, and Matthew Elliot.   It's moved on from "Vote Leave" and "Leave Means Leave" into the lobbyists against net zero. It's the same funding from the same people in the same place lobbying our media and politicians.
