Morning everyone I've been busy the past few days so haven't caught up with everything yet. Warm and sunny in aberdeen, I've has great walk along the beach today and a lovely chat with some bird watchers who had travelled from Yorkshire to see the harlequin duck who's been hanging out here for the past wee while. I've been to vote and I'm not back in work until Tuesday, it's all good in my world today :)

So I see the who are headlining Sunday night, and Paul Weller before that. Hmmm I guess that leaves me with a very short must see list so far, this suits me perfectly ;)

Thanks for all the videos and updates on what's happening down on the farm, it makes me feel more a part of it all. You're all amazing, hearthugs ❤️❤️❤️

I like coming in here.

It makes me smile even when I am having a bad day.

Today, for the first time since moving to the forest of dean over 11 years ago I have been directly insulted for being a 'foreigner' which is what they call people who move to the area. Often it is done with a smile and that is fine but today it was a directly aimed insult...........................

The saddest thing of all was the person who did it is a life long Labour supporter who now seems to think it is fine to be, for want of a better word, 'racist' because a certain political party has made it OK.

This really makes me sad looking and listening to what is happening to our country.

Agreed.

Do you what annoyed me recently? I went to cheer on the man doing a Tough Mudder at the weekend, (12 mile run with mad obstacles along the way) and at one of the obstacles, a guy was doing commentary and was making jokes about a ginger chap. I couldn't see where the commentating man was otherwise I would have had a word, it was just nasty.

Dammit, no upvotes left Matty.

Think you're a comer-inner where we live if you weren't born here.

I have no problem with being an outsider or whatever word they choose to use but it was how what was said was said - it really was not nice :-(

If I had a choice in it I would have been born and raised here - sadly you don't get that choice.........

Shut up Matt

Here Here to that Matty,

Some people have no class mate and sadly there is not too much anyone can do about it. The so called Blitz spirit is almost gone now and that is the saddest part of it for me, Both sides of my family are descendants of foreigners and have fought in Wars for us and for our freedom and for us to have the right to vote and also for as you say certain political parties to even be around in 2015 is very sad.

Not long till Gf mate, we can all get our fill of good old love thy neighbor and the even better blitz spirit we can find in this amazing place we call worthy farm.

I love the place and chilling out people watching and how many people are helping others out for no reason at all other than they feel good about the world and want to!

Unfortunately it is the norm now, people seem to think it is ok to throw insults or take the mick. I have noticed also that people are over sensitive as well and get the hump really quickly.

Bring on Glastonbury I need to be around nice people again.

I have to say I got quite a bit of racist abuse being Irish when I lived in the UK. Got a tirade of verbal abuse in a pub in chester from a complete stranger. She thought I sounded northern and when I said I'm Irish she launched into abuse calling me a terrorist and to fuck off back to my own country.

It really upset me at the time but to be honest I feel really sorry for her and her sad little world.

In a nutshell don't let the bastards grind you down. They live in a very sad mind space.

Wish they'd get Kate Humble back. She made it much more watchable ;) don't really like Michaela Strachan (aesthetically or her presenting!)

Well said, Matty!

We moved to Somerset around 12 years ago, and you need to be at least 10th generation here to be considered 'a local', but I've never heard anything nasty, just a bit of banter. The only time I've been made to feel really unwelcome was one time at uni in Wales. I was stood outside a pub door sending a text before I went in. I could hear people inside speaking English. Once I finished, I went in to get a drink. Got a quick glance from the regulars, who then continued their conversation in Welsh! Stayed and had my drink, though, just to piss them off!

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.

    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
