I saw Muse headline the Pyramid Stage @ Glastonbury 2004, and I can say that it's one of the best gigs I've seen.

I've seen them since then, at R&L and arenas, and they've never really matched the '04 level or performance. I'd heard that they wrote the Absolution album specifically for playing festivals - I hope that they've got the same intention for the new album.

IF they do play, I reckon it has the potential to be one of the best performances of recent years (apart from Rammstein, nobody is topping that).

Shikari are the Sunday headliners. Don't know the other 2 days.

I would rather not say how I've heard this, all I will say is I'd hang whatever little reputation I have on these boards on this being correct.

Yeah I now see the cheek in asking you to expose where you heard it, sorry about that! But that's good enough for me :) nice work! Edited by Andre91

Faith No More > Muse is such a strong top two. almost worth buying day ticket for that alone, regardless of the rest of the lineup that day

think i read somewhere that The Offspring were the first former headliner to return to Download as a non-headliner this year, so Faith No More would be the second

Technically, Limp Bizkit were the first. Kind of.

Saturday is easily the strongest day for me. Not incredibly bothered by the other two days. Slipknot will be ace but seeing them on the arena tour and I'm generally interested in seeing Judas Priest, Kiss, Motley Crue and Slash as not seen any of them live and think they'd be fun after a few drinks. Overall think I would go but it would primarily be because of the Saturday and just to get back to Download.

    • Have you tried Anna von Hausswolff yet? Great singer, and she's from Gothenburg so guess she'll be extra excited to show her skills, especially after she unfortunately had to cancel her early summer dates.    Different style, but Oklou for me was the highlight of Primavera (apart from Geese), really enjoyable relaxed music.
    • A few bigger acts that did other similar festivals this year but not Truck, wouldn't be surprised to see one or two of these (if they're touring):   Reytons The Streets Blossoms Sophie-Ellis Bextor Rick Astley Scissor Sisters Dizzee Rascal   Truck on the undercard seems to rotate a lot of it every 2/3 years, expect to see some of these (if they're touring): Yard Act Sports Team Sea Girls Pale Waves Fat Dog Peace Swim Deep Courting   Hope Westside Cowboy and Radio Free Alice are booked again and get some bigger slots next year
    • I read a reliable source saying there's not enough time to stress test and have worked through any major financial decisions between now and then.   So guarantees this budget will just be tinkering at the edges only.
    • Thanks @sisco. Looking forward to it!
    • Looking like will be bringing a 2-3 month old to Glastonbury next year
