From experience, where would you recommend to stand for the best sound?

Near the sound tent.

Not at the very front, the sound passes you by. Around the same level as the back of the inner circle thing is good or if further back, behind one of the repeater stacks.

The long drops? Do they act as a sound enhancing echo chamber? I would imagine it would be an auditorium of horrors down there!

Never had a problem with sound at the pyramid, but Ive never really gone down the front as my wife is a short-arse and wouldnt see anything.

Middle to back of the field for me.

Probably at West Holts or The Glade sometimes sounds good depending who's on.

Also depends on wind direction. Stood behind repeaters to the right of the stage as you look at it for Elvis last year, seemed pretty quiet but there was a wind blowing in from the side.

I then set off towards Avalon to see Urban Voodoo Machine and the further I went across the field, the better it was. There was still a pretty good sound as I passed the Cider Bus.

I was just to the right of the sound desk for both Arctic Monkeys and Rolling Stones last year and the sound was just fine.

We were by the Water Aid tent for the Stones last year & the sound was rubbish. Spoilt them for me. Only other acts I saw there last year was Kenny & Billy Bragg and they sounded ok.

Can discuss where you stand, direction that the wind is blowing and the other atmospherics until the cows come home but the truth is the volume at The Pyramid is generally too low.

New license this year. Wonder if there'll be any changes to sound.

It will be interesting to see if there's any noticeable differences at all what with the talk of crew increases.

Anyone else notice the start of the rolling stones set last year was stupidly quiet from up on the hill? we were on the path going from hitchin rowards bigground etc going past the pyramid as we were on the way to get to public enemy on the other stage(that was a mission and a half through the crowd I tell you!) but we stayed to watch the start of the stones......until we realised we could hardly hear anything, mixing guy fucked up for the first half of the opening of their set by the sound of it.
