I think it's more the consequence of the stupid amounts that the FA shelled out for Sven and Postman Pat.

After all, it would be a bit insulting to Woy to say he's not worth as much as them, despite him having just been appointed to the same job.

Still, the FA have learnt that England's real problems are naff all to do with who the manager is, so we don't need to go the 'top' manager route again. Over time the England manager's wage should rise less slowly than others, and eventually be around what others are paying.

Suarez could of shown a bit of class in his interviews after the match, sowing the seeds of a move perhaps.

He was not convicted in court but. You keep saying he is a convicted racist but he was not. The FA had a tribunal of sorts, which is a very different thing to a court of law. You cant get a conviction from a tribunal set up by people who run a game. Terry may be a pure scum bag and may dress up as a Nazi at home but in the eyes of the law he was convicted of nothing.

After his case was finished in court the FA set up their tribunal of investigation and so even when cleared in court the FA went after him. They were not wrong in doing this, but this is why he felt he could not play for England anymore and so retired. Not for footballing reasons. So as mentioned before, his retirement was not your standard retirement and so to have the attitude that he is retired and thats it is somewhat frivolous.

He is a rotten egg, but a bloody good defender. Had Woy wanted him and did not care about his bosses he could have got him. On talent and form he was Englands best choice for CB and Woy probably should have asked him instead of not wanting to handle the hot potato.
