So... Announing a massive arena tour with 3-4 weeks notice???

I'd say it doesn't.

There's perhaps a slight possibility that he's decided to do Glastonbury as well as these venue shows, but I'd have thought the dates would have properly tied in if that was the case.

How do you know he won't play some arena's/ festivals in europe in June as well, leading up to Glastonbury. He's not likely to come to Europe for just those shows.

This couldn't have been timed any better, announce arena shows, get announced for a sold out Glastonbury a week or 2 later.

I mean it's not like Prince spent a week or so in London recently without any other reason to be there apart from do some unannounced shows in the UK... hmmm wait, I think that did happen.

Prince doesn't have to worry about financial limitations to a tour due to the fact that

A) He has lots of money

If these shows sell out it'll make him lots of money

I think it's pretty strange that he's renewed his Warner deal, given all that ridiculous "slave" bollocks of 25 years ago. Combined with some sudden/keener interest in shows, it seems a bit suggestive.

Either £72, £94 or £138 for the Birmingham date.. I thought he didn't like overcharging? Is this the same as before when the 'advertised' price is £50 higher than what people actually end up paying, to 'weed out the chaff', or is that just me being optimistic?

Top price tickets for Glasgow are £125 - which will definitely weed out the fairweather contingent.

I paid almost £100 to see leonard cohen once I must admit, but all of his band are sensational musicians in their own right who sell out their own gigs so it doesnt feel like such a rip off.

I've no idea.

He's never done any shows here that haven't sold out, as far as I'm aware
