Taping off areas for friends?

Nah, it's not busy :) It's just right if you ask me. You have to walk through Pylon Ground to get there, and that's if you walk that way anyway.. So any late comers probably dump their stuff in Pylon, or walk in the wrong direction. It doesn't really fill up properly at all.. You have a nice area to camp in and it's quiet enough to relax, be chatty with neighbours and the compost toilets are the icing on the cake really.

of course its ideal if you park next to Gate D
It was a crew area in 2009 but the shot below is from 2013 { Gate D is out of shot on the left }
I took that on the Saturday and while its not near the public track you can see there was still some space.
Behind the camera it is a crew path - a few wags climbed over the fence from the public area not appreciating that there is a Security check point that checks crew passes just around the corner + seeing a few thousand Security camp in that crew area its not a smart move.
each year I see people walking in both directions carrying their gear - If I drove there and did not have a crew pass I certainly would camp in that area as its less of a walk to move the gear back to the car.

I'm fairly vehemently against this. In fact one year, some members of my group taped off some of our camp-site, which 'accidentally' got kicked over. You should be in Worthy View if you want a little marked out space for yourself.

Having said all that, I'm travelling by coach on the Thursday and meeting the rest of my group there... Guess what I'm thinking of asking them to do? :) Groundsheet sounds like the best idea. Gonna give that a go if they're willing.

People taping off areas for their mates arriving the next day is bad enough but people taping off areas for the duration of the festival is ridiculous.

These people should be hanged, naked as a baboon, from the Pyramid Stage and left dangling for the duration of the festival so their friends and relatives can see them live on the Beeb every night.
