I don't think it's looking too bad right now to be honest, reading the ensambles it's looking like we should get less than 5mm rain throught the festival worst case senario seems to be we will get as much rain as last year but spread over the whole weekend.

Is it daft in not getting my fella wellies and considering not taking mine? XxX

I left mine in the car last year and wore a good pair of waterproof walking boots. If it'd had turned into a horrendous mess I'd have fetched them from the car. No need with the walking boots as they coped with the slight mess Friday morning with ease.. they are also a damn sight more comfortable on the base of your feet all day!

BBC now reporting showers Wednesday - Sunday.

so it could be no more than drizzle for an hour. I've often gone to watch Cricket at Taunton with that sort of forecast and ended up getting sunburnt..

This. You can always take waders if it gets really deep.

Yep, several forecasts have gone south as of this morning. Look forward to the absolute meltdown in this thread over the next few hours. Please remember it's still early and unpredictable, people.

From what I can see at this stage is not too bad. Leading up to next week is sun and cloud, no rain, so the ground that is already hard will not get any worse. Through Wed to Sunday we are seeing just sun , cloud and some showers, mostly on Thursday and Sunday, so not bad.

Gone south as in gone shite

Think positive. Most of the rain forcast for Glastonbury over the last month never actually arrived. I could see it looking west out of my window but it rarely actually fell on my garden. The odd shower at the festival is a boon - damps down the dust :-)

AccuWeather has it raining on every day apart from Wednesday,

Thursday - Cloudy with shower in spots (1 hour of rain, 0mm)

Friday - Clouds and sun with shower (1 hour of rain, 1mm)

Saturday - Sun and clouds with shower (1 hour of rain, 1mm)

Sunday - Cloudy with shower (1 hour of rain, 1mm)

So, it's really not looking that bad!

looking at the ensembles and models for next week, it generally looks very good - the only predicted rain is really for late sat and sunday - at this timeframe weather models always show a change in weather, either a breakdown in high pressure or a low moving on.

What keeps happening is this breakdown in high pressure keeps moving back a day or two with each run - wasn't that long ago that the start of the festival was looking damp, I'd be surprised if for the south west this didn't happen until monday or tuesday and we are left with perfect conditions - lots of sun, temps in the low 20's.

that's exactly what i have started to think too... with every run the models push the breakdown back further and further.
