Chvrches won't be back next year. Spoke to them after their Corn Exchange gig, they're taking time off touring or anything next year because they've been doing it non-stop since 2012

Definitely deserve a break. Just seen on FB they've played over 365 shows in 2 years. Pretty hefty going.

Here we are then, tickets go on sale this Friday. Everyone on the lookout for the headliner announcement?

Kasabian talking on Radio 1 Breakfast show tomorrow. Could be chatting about their return to TITP? Although usually it's Zane Lowe that does festival stuff.

yeah this is no coincidence that they are speaking to radio 1 this week, they have to be the announcement

so tickets go on sale this Friday and we still don't have a single headliner announced. If it's not announced this week surly this is the worst marketing strategy ever: titip have failed to sell out for quite a few years and putting tickets on sale with no one announced is a bold move, I certainly won't be buying a ticket till i find out the line up and i can imagine other people will be thinking the same. Come on Geoff, sort it out

I reckon they will be announced tomorrow, Kasabian really makes sense.

Yeah they'd be a cool addition. Bit different to the usual Guetta/Calvin sort of act. Not as current or mainstream just now, but enough of a back catalog to pull a crowd. Pop on R1 against a mainstream headliner on main stage and a rockier Tuts headliner in Tuts. Everyone's happy.

In regards to why they haven't announced a headliner yet it could hopefully be that they are gonna pull it out the bag and tell us they have booked someone that comes as a shock. Honestly I'd be happy with Muse they are quality live and not played since 2010 so its been a good wee wait to see them at TITP again, I'd personally just like to see an act that hasn't headlined before though or at least not played in the last 5 years! (unless its the strokes or prodigy :))

I seriously doubt it will be Muse and I think they're a UK exclusive at Download but need to check up on that

I used to think a bit like that and always thought they would come good and announce decent headliners. only to get kicked firmly in the bawz when Calvin, Killers, Kol Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys get announced in two year cycles. The days of T showing any adventure with the majority of acts went out in 2010/11

Yeah this exactly. Luckily I have managed to go for the past three years without buying a ticket due to volunteer work either helping set up areas or at points during the festival for a couple of hours. I definitely wouldn't have been paying money for the past 3 or so line-ups...

Fleetwood Mac announced for IOW..

"The band have signed an exclusive worldwide deal to headline the event, making it their only festival appearance of the year."

Will be getting paid a fair amount for that I'd imagine, watch the rest of their lineup be utter rubbish.

It has been pretty poor at IOW the last few years.

Didn't think they would, As someone said before its really unlikely for them to announce a headliner on R1 without it either being Zane Lowe making the announcement or without T letting everyone know an anouncement is on the way beforehand.

Hopefully they do announce a decent number of acts (10+) when they make the first announement, would be pretty dissappointed if they just announced one headliner.

Just signed up to let people know. Geoff Ellis was saying a few things about T on xfm and I believe he said that there would be no announcements this side of Christmas. Can't really see that happening as they'll want to shift as many tickets as possible but that's what was said

With tickets going on sale in just 3 days, I reckon the lack of announcment means one of two things. Either there is some insane acts lined up and they want to keep us waiting..... or the acts they do have arn't good at all and they fear announcing them might risk people not buying tickets.

    • We had one f**kwit one year come back at 4am and start playing music out loud and sitting under the tree talking. Thankfully his mate was in the tent trying to sleep too and came out and told him to f**k off. After one big argument he did indeed f**k off.   Otherwise I can actually sleep at GM without ear plugs compared to glasto. It's usually typically fine for sleeping at.

    • Yeah, she sold out BST twice and I think she'll return with even more interest.
    • To me MGK doesn't shift tickets, but could appeal to a younger demographic.    Don Broco/Architects/Jimmy Eat World/Turnstile - one or two of these would hit better.
    • I'm going, some friends and relatives will also be there on some days. I'm going on Sunday, then Tuesday to Saturday. I'm staying in the city From the headliners I'm most excited for Florence and twenty one pilots. Smaller acts I'm really looking forward to are: Tomora, Dijon, Wolf Alice and Sigrid
